It takes several revisions to include credit unions in the recently-enacted $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package.
Credit union leaders are hopeful it will be included in the next economic stimulus bill.
Credit union trade groups believe the problem is that the law uses a definition of nonprofit organization that may not include CUs.
Credit unions may apply for the COVID-19 Emergency Response grants or loans now through May 22.
"During this time, the NCUA will limit the burden imposed on credit unions so that they can focus on providing uninterrupted service to their members."
At the same time, Democrats are pushing for all rules by financial regulators not related to COVID-19 to be delayed.
"Entities should maintain records sufficient to allow them to make delayed submissions pursuant to bureau guidance."
