WEST
The $1.7 billion, Carson City, Nev.-based Greater Nevada Credit Union announced two promotions within Greater Nevada Mortgage (GNM), its mortgage lending subsidiary.

Jeff Newbury was promoted to SVP of mortgage lending. Newbury joined GNM in August 2023 as vice president of mortgage operations, and his two-decade mortgage career has included leadership roles at Primary Capital Mortgage, Stearns Lending, AmWest Funding Corp., MAXEX and Rushmore Correspondent Loan Services. He also spent 25 years coaching competitive youth soccer in Georgia. In his new role, he will oversee mortgage sales and operations teams across all regions, ensuring the development and execution of key strategies that enhance the mortgage lending experience.
The $9.8 billion, Portland, Ore.-based OnPoint Community Credit Union announced one promotion and one new hire.
Stephen Cantrell was promoted to chief risk officer. Cantrell most recently served as chief audit officer for OnPoint. In his new role, he will oversee the credit union’s risk, Bank Security Act, fraud and internal audit teams. Before joining OnPoint, Cantrell served in audit and operational risk roles at Mechanics Bank, Rabobank and Umpqua Bank. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and spent four years on active duty in the U.S. Army.
EAST
The $729 million, Manchester, N.H.-based Granite State Credit Union promoted Darcy Silvia to vice president of lending. Silvia has been with Granite State for nearly 25 years, most recently serving as assistant vice president of consumer lending.
SOUTH
The $1 billion, Metairie, La.-based OnPath Credit Union promoted Thomas Aleman to EVP/chief experience officer. In his new role, Aleman is responsible for driving a holistic experience strategy that encompasses member journeys, employee engagement and operational excellence. His leadership focuses on creating seamless, intuitive and exceptional interactions that reinforce OnPath’s dedication to its community. Aleman began his career in banking as a teller at Hancock Whitney Bank. He then advanced to JP Morgan Chase as a relationship banker before moving on to serve as a regional director for JMFA, a national consulting firm for bank and credit union executives. He then served as assistant vice president of key accounts at Corporate One Credit Union ($7.9 billion, Columbus, Ohio). Aleman joined OnPath in 2022 as SVP of growth. In September 2023, he was appointed chief administrative officer, and in July 2024, he was named chief of staff. Aleman is a Certified Credit Union Executive and SHRM-Certified Professional, and recently received a certification in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
The $4.9 billion, Orlando, Fla.-based FAIRWINDS Credit Union announced five promotions.
Jorge Font was promoted to EVP, chief commercial banking officer. Most recently serving as SVP, business services, Font now leads FAIRWINDS’ commercial sales division, overseeing all business development and delivery strategies. With more than 30 years of financial industry experience, Font previously held senior and executive roles at several regional financial institutions. He joined FAIRWINDS in 2013.
Bryan Meizinger was promoted to EVP, chief risk officer. In his new role, Meizinger oversees FAIRWINDS’ credit and enterprise risk management functions, as well as the entire loan portfolio, including retail, small business, commercial and collections. He has 25 years of experience in finance and lending and has served at FAIRWINDS since 2000, most recently as EVP, chief credit officer.
Adrienne Cabal was promoted to SVP, digital delivery. In her new role, Cabal leads FAIRWINDS’ enterprise-wide digital strategy, enhancing digital channels and remote service capabilities to deliver a seamless, scalable member experience. She has been with FAIRWINDS for more than two decades and most recently served as VP, digital sales and service.
Elisha González was promoted to SVP, public engagement. In her new role, González leads FAIRWINDS’ national community relations, government affairs, public relations and foundation strategies, strengthening stakeholder relationships, building visibility and cultivating lasting connections across U.S. communities. With more than two decades of experience, González joined FAIRWINDS in 2019 and most recently served as vice president, community relations and government affairs. She also serves as executive director of the FAIRWINDS Foundation.
Jonathan Russell was promoted to SVP, lending. In his new role, Russell leads the strategic direction and performance of retail and small business lending, driving responsible growth, national expansion, operational excellence and innovative member solutions. Since joining FAIRWINDS in 2001, Russell has held leadership roles in retail branch operations, business services and consumer lending. He most recently served as VP, retail lending.
The $952 million, Austin, Texas-based Greater Texas|Aggieland Credit Union hired Stephanie O’Neal as assistant vice president of collections. In her new role, she focuses on loss mitigation, asset recovery and risk management for the credit union. She will also continue to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work to identify areas for process improvement and implementation of new technologies to streamline the collection process. A three-decade financial services industry veteran, O’Neal was previously vice president of collections for Servicing Solutions, a Texas-based provider of loan servicing and financial product solutions. She has also held executive positions at organizations such as Mechanics Bank in Nevada, Wells Fargo Dealer Services and HSBC Bank.
Kristen Shambro, assistant vice president of operations at the $412 million, West Monroe, La.-based Centric Federal Credit Union, received the 2025 Hugh Watson Award from Southeastern Regional Credit Union School (SRCUS). Selected by vote of her classmates, Shambro accepted the award on June 20 during this year’s session of the Southeast Management School in Athens, Ga. The award recognizes the exceptional contributions she has made to the class over the course of the three-year program and her outstanding leadership skills. Since joining the Centric team in 2011, she has held a variety of roles, including cash manager, business services representative and training coordinator.
