The Chartway Promise Foundation, the charitable arm of the $3 billion, Virginia Beach, Va.-based Chartway Credit Union, announced seven board elections.

The $2.7 billion, Rome, N.Y.-based AmeriCU Credit Union hired Eric Maddox as the financial center manager at its North Utica location in Utica, N.Y. Maddox brings over a decade of experience in banking as well as an extensive background in team development. Over the past 10 years, he has specialized in new hire training, curriculum redesign, leadership and management. Maddox also coaches high school varsity basketball and works with the Patrick Johnson Community Center in Utica on programs that promote safety and community well-being.

The $511 million, Falls Church, Va.-based Arlington Community Federal Credit Union hired Suri Thummala as CFO. Thummala brings over two decades of leadership experience in the financial services industry, as well as expertise in financial planning and analysis, treasury operations, balance sheet management, capital markets trading, marketing and business development. He most recently served as vice president of finance at the auto lending fintech Caribou Financial. Thummala also held executive positions at Citigroup and Capital One, along with gaining strategic consulting experience at Bain & Company. He earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in Durham, N.C., and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations in the greater Washington metropolitan area.

The $152 million, Heath, Ohio-based Hopewell Federal Credit Union hired Paul Hessler as a mortgage loan officer. Hessler brings over 20 years of customer service and sales experience. In the past nine years of his career, he has focused on mortgage and financial services. In his new role, he will help members navigate the mortgage loan process by providing professional service and integrity, building strong relationships, taking the time to understand each member’s unique situation, and working with them to make the best decisions for their short- and long-term financial goals.
