Shana Marie Ware, a former employee of the $5.3 billion Genisys Credit Union in Auburn Hills, Mich., has been banned from ever working at a federally insured financial institution, the NCUA said Friday.

Sentenced to 150 days in jail and three years’ probation, Ware was also ordered to pay restitution of $57,005 after she pleaded guilty last October to one felony count of forgery and two felony counts of embezzlement, according to Michigan court filings.

The former credit union employee was also ordered to pay $634 in court costs.

In exchange for her guilty plea, state prosecutors dropped a third embezzlement charge and two charges of computer crime, court filings showed.

Last October, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services issued a permanent prohibition order against Ware, which banned her from ever working for a domestic credit union.
