Gavel with money
A judge sentenced Macey L. Wymore last week to seven years of probation for stealing more than $60,000 from the $11.6 billion Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) where she worked.
Nez Perce County Judge Michelle M. Evans also ordered Wymore to pay $63,400 in restitution to the Chubbuck-based credit union and $245 in court costs.
Wymore pleaded guilty in October to one felony count of grand theft, according to court records.
After stealing $63,400, Wymore had planned to steal an additional $23,000 but returned it after learning of an unexpected audit and an internal investigation, according to a police probable cause affidavit.
ICCU's internal investigation determined there were shortages of cash from the vault and an electronic dispenser note acceptor at ICCU’s Lewiston branch.
The credit union’s investigation determined Wymore stole the cash from December 2023 to June 2024, when she was fired.
Wymore deposited most of the stolen funds with another credit union in Lewiston.
When interviewed by police, she admitted to stealing the money and used it to buy hay for her horses, pay off and make payments on multiple loans/lines of credit, pay off multiple credit cards and buy a grave spot/headstone for a relative.
Wymore’s attorney did not respond to a CU Times request for comment by deadline on Friday.
