Rogue CU Expands in Idaho
Oregon credit union to open its third branch in western Idaho’s Treasure Valley.
Rogue Credit Union of Medford, Ore., is opening its third branch in Idaho, this one in Caldwell, 27 miles west of Boise, Idaho and 445 miles east of Medford.
The branch to open next spring will be the first branch in Canyon County for Rogue ($3.5 billion in assets, 210,123 members as of June 30). This branch will be a full-service location with extended hours via the drive-thru with Express Teller Machines featuring Live Video Tellers.
NCUA data showed Rogue had 26 branches and two corporate offices as of June 30. This included two branches in Payette County, more than 20 miles north of Caldwell.
Benji Fargason, Rogue’s community outreach and business partnerships manager, said Monday that the Caldwell branch will help it “better serve our emerging membership base in the western Idaho market” and “serve as an extension of our existing branches in the Treasure Valley.”
Rogue’s location count increased by one from March 31 to June 30 with the addition of a drive-through only location in White City, Ore., 10 miles north of Medford.
Rogue also announced selected third-quarter results, showing:
- Assets were $3.64 billion at Sept.30, up 9.2% from a year earlier.
- Members were 213,222, up 2.6%.
- Loans were $2.12 billion, up 9.5%.
- Net worth ratio was 9.45%, down from 9.73% a year earlier.
In other branch news:
- CoastHills Credit Union of Santa Maria, Calif. ($1.8 billion in assets, 78,100 members) on Friday celebrated the reopening of its remodeled branch in Atascadero, 50 miles north of Santa Maria. Both locations are roughly midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the California coast. NCUA data showed it had 12 branches and other locations on June 30, unchanged from a year earlier.
- Premier Members Credit Union of Boulder, Colo. ($1.7 billion in assets, 76,931 members) announced Thursday that it has opened its relocated branch in South Longmont, 12 miles northeast of Boulder. NCUA data showed it had 20 branches on June 30, one more than a year earlier.
- Copper State Credit Union of Phoenix ($597.5 million in assets, 45,856 members) announced Oct. 17 it plans a reopening ceremony Oct. 30 for its Goodyear branch, which has been under renovation for the past year. Copper State plans to initiate similar renovations to additional branches, with upgrades to its Payson location underway. NCUA data showed it had nine branches on June 30, one fewer than a year earlier.
- First Imperial Credit Union of El Centro, Calif. ($202.8 million in assets, 22,348 members) announced Oct. 1 that it plans to open a new, 1,882-square-foot branch by year’s end in the Komar Desert Center in La Quinta, Calif. NCUA data showed it had four branches on June 30, unchanged from a year earlier.
- Ascend Federal Credit Union of Tullahoma, Tenn. ($4.4 billion in assets, 243,589 members) announced Monday (Oct. 21) that it has opened a relocated, 3,500-square-foot branch in McMinnville, Tenn., 36 miles northeast of Tullahoma. Both are about 75 miles southeast of Nashville.
Amanda Blackburn is manager of the McMinnville branch at 3080 Nashville Highway, which includes five member service rooms, two interior and two drive-up Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), a coin machine in the lobby and 24/7 ATM service.
President/CEO Matt Jernigan said Ascend first expanded to McMinnville in 2007, when it opened the former branch at the Three Star Mall.
“We are so grateful for the trust of the local community and businesses that have been extremely supportive as we moved to this new financial center,” Jernigan said. “Just as Warren County has continued to grow, so has our credit union and its continually expanding capabilities.”
NCUA data showed Ascend had 31 branches on June 30, one more than a year earlier.
