5 Credit Unions & One CUSO Announce Career Moves, Recognitions

Neighbors FCU hires a chief technology officer and Fox Communities promotes an SVP of operations, among other news.

Alexis Fitzpatrick

Alexis Fitzpatrick, CFO for the $4.6 billion, Folsom, Calif.-based SAFE Credit Union, was one of 20 executives honored at the 2024 C-Suite Awards by the Sacramento Business Journal. The C-Suite Awards honor executives from different disciplines who are instrumental in the success of their organization and who have made their mark in the Greater Sacramento business community. Fitzpatrick was selected based on her leadership at SAFE, where she has taken an active role in leading budgetary strategy and providing financial oversight for the credit union. She also was honored for her community involvement with the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the American River Parkway Foundation and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, where she focused her efforts on strengthening the local economy and improving the quality of life for residents.

The $7.3 billion, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley Credit Union announced two new hires.

Christy Mitchell was hired as vice president, director of consumer lending operations. In her new role, she will lead HVCU’s consumer lending teams, enhancing service across the direct and indirect lending channels, bolstering staff training and recognition, and introducing new competitive products and services. She most recently served as contact center managing director for Webster Bank.

Jesse Petrillo was hired as vice president, director of member operations administration. Petrillo brings more than 20 years of experience, having previously served as managing director, sales operations manager for Webster Bank. In his new position, he will play a critical role in optimizing member and employee experiences, financial planning, vendor relations and goal setting. In her new role, she will oversee the operations of the South York branch and provide the best possible in-branch member experience.

The $313 million, York, Pa.-based First Capital Federal Credit Union hired Melinda (Mindi) Funk as manager of its new South York branch. Funk brings more than 35 years of banking experience, having begun her career as a teller at what is now known as M & T Bank. There, she worked her way up to head teller, and after 14 years at M & T, she accepted an assistant manager role with Fulton Bank. During her 18 years with Fulton, she was promoted to financial center manager/vice president, and in 2021, Funk accepted a business center manager position with Univest Bank in York. Most recently, she served as financial center manager/assistant vice president, followed by business solutions sales specialist, for PeoplesBank.

Michele Stumpf

The $3 billion, Appleton, Wis.-based Fox Communities Credit Union promoted Michele Stumpf to SVP of operations. In her new role, Stumpf will provide leadership to multiple teams within Fox, including ATM and operations, member payment systems, member support center and retail resource. Stumpf has been with Fox for 33 years and has extensive experience in various operational functions. Since 2021, she has been serving as vice president of retail – branch operations.

SOUTH

Eric Starkey

The $1.3 billion Baton Rouge, La.-based Neighbors Federal Credit Union hired Eric Starkey as chief technology officer. Starkey brings over 20 years of experience in information technology management, having served in a variety of roles including in network security, data analytics and technology consulting. Most recently, he served as chief information officer at Louisiana Federal Credit Union ($409 million, La Place, La.). He holds an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University as well as a variety of professional certifications in information security management, risk and information security control, data privacy solutions, cybersecurity analytics, IT service management, project management and cloud security.

CUSOS

Sam Boore

InterLutions, an employee benefit solutions CUSO in Milwaukee, Wis., hired Sam Boore as employee benefits executive. In his new role, Boore will spearhead the delivery of InterLutions’ I-Care employee benefits solutions to credit unions and their employees, members and business accounts. His work will involve identifying the unique needs of credit unions, providing tailored consultative solutions and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. He brings 20 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, during which time he served as a licensed agent, trained and supported brokers, built teams and led his own benefits, insurance and HR firm.
