A New Mexico credit union is hoping to boost financial wellness in its community through a timely marketing campaign featuring an Olympic athlete from Albuquerque.

The $1.5 billion, Albuquerque-based U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union launched a statewide campaign, "Find Your Balance," in partnership with professional skateboarder Mariah Duran, who will be competing in the Women's Street Skateboarding competition on July 28 at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Elements of the campaign include a website landing page and video, in which Duran educates the public about goal setting and how to better manage their finances. She'll be emphasizing the digital financial education tools and services U.S. Eagle offers to its current and potential members, including free personalized guidance from certified Financial Wellness Coaches and bite-sized online courses, according to the credit union's announcement Wednesday.

"We are thrilled to work with Mariah to help share the importance of financial well-being to youth and young adults in New Mexico," U.S. Eagle President/CEO Marsha Majors stated. "We are dedicated to providing them with financial education and free tools to reach their goals. It's not just about having more money, but rather about making most of the money they do have by finding balance and feeling confident in their financial decisions. As a professional skateboarder who grew up in Albuquerque, Mariah knows the community and wants to share what she learned about setting goals and making sound financial decisions."

Duran added, "I am honored to partner with U.S. Eagle to help New Mexicans with setting their goals for financial well-being. The 'Find Your Balance' campaign is another way for me to give back to the community where I was raised and to those who have supported me in reaching my goals."

Duran is a three-time X Games gold medalist and two-time USA national champion. Her appearance at next week's Olympics in Paris marks her second time on the USA Olympic team.
