Landmark CU Opens Branch West of Milwaukee
Wisconsin credit union's new Oconomowoc branch employs a new type of safe deposit boxes.
Landmark Credit Union of Milwaukee opened a new branch Monday in Oconomowoc, Wis., 33 miles west of downtown Milwaukee.
A news release from Landmark ($6.5 billion in assets, 392,777 members as of March 31) said the branch employs the first Swiss-made, automated safe deposit box system in the United States. It uses robotics to streamline the process of accessing personal items. The branch is also the credit union’s first to offer a locker system available 24/7, allowing members to securely retrieve important documents outside regular banking hours.
“Combining the advantages of the latest technology and the support of our associates who are making the move, the new Oconomowoc branch will provide innovative solutions and exceptional service to our members,” Brian Melter, chief experience officer, said.
“This branch not only represents a significant investment in the Oconomowoc community, but also showcases some of the most advanced banking technologies available today,” Melter said.
The branch features a contemporary design that incorporates historical building elements such as cream city brick walls and iron bow trusses. “These special touches pay homage to Landmark’s manufacturing roots with Rexnord and its 90-year heritage in the Wisconsin community,” the news release said.
NCUA data showed Landmark had 37 branches and other locations as of March 31.
In other branch news, Utah First Federal Credit Union of Salt Lake City ($973.6 million in assets, 37,659 members) has expanded to southern Utah by opening a branch in St. George, 300 miles south of Salt Lake City and 130 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
Branch manager Tyler Sparrow said the new branch will create new opportunities for the credit union.
“We have been supporting the community from afar and are happy to be in town and work with our neighbors,” Sparrow said.
NCUA data showed Utah First had nine branches as of March 31.
