The $6.5 billion Mission Federal Credit Union in San Diego promoted Steve Hasbrooke to CFO. Hasbrooke has been with Mission Fed for more than 17 years and supported various teams during his tenure, including as an accountant and the 1st vice president controller. He assumed his new role in March 2024, after former CFO Doug Wright was announced as the credit union's president/CEO. In his new role, Hasbrooke oversees all accounting, financial planning, analysis, finance, treasury, asset recovery and collections teams. He also plays a critical part in the ongoing evolution of Mission Fed's data analytics and process improvement efforts. Before joining Mission Fed, Hasbrooke worked for the Family Help & Caring Connection as the director of operations and financial manager. He also previously served as a controller with Partners in Vision International, Inc. In addition, he previously held board of director positions for organizations such as Hope in the City and Partners in Vision International, Inc., and volunteered his time as financial secretary and treasurer. Additionally, he served as treasurer for the church council at College Center Covenant Church in San Diego.

Christine Ebert, vice president of project management at Mountain America Credit Union ($19.2 billion, Sandy, Utah), was recognized by Utah Business as one of the 30 Women to Watch in 2024. In her current role, Ebert leads large-scale initiatives impacting over 3,000 employees and more than a million members across six states. She also created the Women with Purpose council, which houses Mountain America's largest mentorship program.

Keisaku Yogi, SVP of marketing for the $13.2 billion, San Diego, Calif.-based San Diego County Credit Union, was named among San Diego Business Journal's 2024 Asian Pacific Islander Leaders of Influence for the second year in a row. The award recognizes outstanding leaders who are positively impacting their organization and the San Diego community.

Yogi was recognized and selected for his leadership and avid commitment to positively impacting the San Diego community through his work. He joined SDCCU in 2013 and is responsible for leading the department's strategic planning, brand, marketing and media relations activities to elevate awareness and drive growth and success for SDCCU.

MIDWEST

The $2.2 billion, Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Consumers Credit Union announced one promotion and four new hires.

Leslie Ashbaugh was promoted to office manager for the Milwood location in Kalamazoo. Ashbaugh has been with Consumers for 16 years and has served as assistant manager of Milwood for several years.

Mark Bridgewater was hired onto the mortgage team as a producing sales manager. Bridgewater brings 22 years of experience in mortgages.

Erin Smith was hired as a mortgage loan officer in the Plainfield, Mich., area.

Jim Edsall was hired as a mortgage loan officer in the Kalamazoo market. Edsall brings over 13 years of home lending experience and over 25 years of sales experience.

Matthew J. Dhaseleer was hired as a mortgage sales manager in Grand Rapids, Mich. Dhaseleer brings nearly 25 years of experience in mortgage lending, including 10 years in a management/production role.

The $229 million, Fremont, Mich.-based Gerber Federal Credit Union hired Todd Visser as SVP and CFO in January 2024. Visser brings a combined 30 years of financial experience from various industries throughout West Michigan. He served Gerber as a volunteer on the Supervisory Committee for 15 years and the Board of Directors for four years. Visser has also served as treasurer for the Fremont Service Committee for 22 years.

Chriselle Martinez Chriselle Martinez

The Credit Union Association of New Mexico hired Chriselle Martinez as vice president of partnerships and development. Martinez brings experience working with credit unions nationwide to enhance their impact on local communities, particularly through the lens of community development. In her new role, she will focus on building and nurturing relationships that benefit New Mexico's credit unions and their members, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive. She holds a PhD.
