New CU Offices Opening from Delaware to California
TDECU begins building a new headquarters near Houston, while Soarion CU opens a San Antonio branch.
Texas Dow Employees Credit Union of Sugar Land, Texas broke ground Tuesday on a new branch in Lake Jackson, while a dozen others also announced new branches or other offices in recent weeks.
TDECU, which had $4.8 billion in assets and 387,149 members as of March 31, was founded in 1955 in Lake Jackson, 55 miles south of downtown Houston. The new building will include a 6,000-square-foot financial center, eight drive-thru bays and a drive-up ATM.
TDECU President/CEO Isaac Johnson said the location was selected to support recent renovations by the city designed to make downtown Lake Jackson a vibrant and walkable destination for residents and visitors. Once the new flagship member center is complete, the credit union will donate the current Lake Jackson building to the city for use as a public space.
“With today’s groundbreaking, we are planting seeds for a brighter future for the Brazoria County community,” Johnson said. “This is not just about meeting the needs of our members today, but about laying down the groundwork for the prosperity of future generations. Each phase of our growth allows us to offer more protection and services to our members.”
Soarion Credit Union of San Antonio, Texas ($652.5 million in assets, 54,874 members) held an opening ceremony Wednesday for its new branch at 2538 Marshall Rd. in northern San Antonio. The Marshall Road Financial Center is the fifth financial center in the San Antonio area for the credit union, which changed its name April 2 from Air Force Federal Credit Union.
President/CEO Ryan Ross said the branch’s design reflects the credit union’s goal “to continuously find innovative ways to better serve our members so that they can achieve their financial success.”
“Our new Marshall Road Financial Center, with its sleek design and modern features, will be the blueprint for our future financial centers as we continue to grow and expand,” Ross said.
Next year Soarion plans to open its new headquarters and financial center in downtown San Antonio.
