California police are searching for a burglar who accessed a credit union branch from its roof.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday, police officers were dispatched to the $21.1 billion Golden 1 Credit Union branch in Lincoln, Calif., for reports of a burglary in progress.
Arriving within minutes of receiving the call, officers discovered evidence of a break-in, but they did not find a suspect. However, Golden 1's security camera video confirmed that there was a suspect in the branch.
The individual was wearing light blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, a black beanie and a ski mask.
Police did not report whether there was any damage to the branch or whether the suspect stole anything.
The Lincoln police and Placer County Sheriff's Office spent several hours searching the area for the burglar.
After police cleared surrounding businesses, a Placer County Special Enforcement Team was called in to continue searching the credit union, including the roof and crawl area.
"It appears the suspect accessed the bank from the roof," police said in a prepared statement.
As of 3 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, on Tuesday, Lincoln police have not posted any updates regarding the arrest of a suspect.
