Randolph-Brooks FCU Promotes 5 to Leadership Roles
Plus, California Coast CU, Corporate Central CU and The Family CU announce new hires and a board appointment.
WEST
The $3.5 billion, San Diego-based California Coast Credit Union hired Kyra Seay as vice president of community relations and business development. In her new role, Seay will oversee community relations and business development, and participate in enterprise-wide strategic planning within the organization. In addition, she will join the board of the Cal Coast Cares Foundation, a nonprofit started by the credit union in 2015 that provides student scholarships and educator grants. Seay brings over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, serving in management and executive roles for the MAAC Community Charter School, Dreams for Change and City Heights Community Development Corporation. She holds a master of science degree in organizational leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
MIDWEST
The $2.4 billion, Muskego, Wis.-based Corporate Central Credit Union announced the appointment of Charlie Zanayed to its Board of Directors. Zanayed is CEO of the $3.5 billion, Antigo, Wis.-based CoVantage Credit Union and has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He joined CoVantage in 2013 as SVP, chief retail officer. In 2016, he was promoted to president, and upon the retirement of the existing CEO in 2017, he was elevated to the CEO position. Prior to joining CoVantage, he was a regional manager for Advia Credit Union ($2.9 billion, Kalamazoo, Mich.). He earned an MBA from Western Michigan University with a concentration in finance, and currently serves on the board for the CoVantage Cares Foundation as president. In addition, he was recently appointed to the Wisconsin Credit Union League board and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, and has served on multiple other boards during his career, including the Aspirus, Inc. board.
The $242 million, Davenport, Iowa-based The Family Credit Union hired Abigail Eaton as financial wellness coordinator. Eaton brings more than seven years of financial experience. In her new role, she will be responsible for promoting financial wellness to the communities the credit union serves, and will oversee financial education activities through classes, presentations and individual sessions to help members reach their goals. She will also be the onsite coordinator for the credit union’s new credit counseling program, Credit Climber. Eaton most recently worked as a teller, account officer and assistant branch manager at the $534 million, Bettendorf, Iowa-based Ascentra Credit Union. She also served as a financial coach for an Illinois credit union, and received her Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor designation in 2022.
SOUTH
The $18 billion Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union in Live Oak, Texas announced five promotions.
Berenice Villarreal was promoted to EVP – chief risk officer. Villarreal joined RBFCU in 2006 as a manager in internal audit and has held leadership roles in business services, payments and consumer lending. Most recently, she served as SVP, chief risk officer for RBFCU.
Zachary Crews was promoted to EVP – CFO. Crews started at the credit union in 2017 as asset and liability management and investments director. In his most recent role as SVP of finance at RBFCU, Crews led the finance department in the critical roles of stress testing and ALM. He holds a master’s in finance from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
Blake Lyons was promoted to SVP – marketing and business development. Lyons joined the RBFCU marketing department more than 15 years ago and most recently served as vice president.
Brian Munsterteiger was promoted to SVP – enterprise fraud management. Munsterteiger, a Certified Fraud Examiner, celebrated his 20th year at RBFCU in 2023. He previously served as fraud manager, and worked in card services and online operations before becoming payment services director. Four years ago, Munsterteiger was promoted to vice president and was tasked with leading the enterprise fraud management department, which identifies and mitigates potential fraud issues while analyzing and reporting on the credit union’s overall fraud prevention management and payment card fraud.
Salvador Guerrero was promoted to vice president – corporate communications and public relations. Guerrero is a former journalist who joined RBFCU as a communications specialist in 2016. He then progressed to manager and assistant vice president.
