Utah Community CU’s Bret VanAusdal to Retire
VanAusdal has served as the credit union’s leader for nearly six years.
The Provo, Utah-based Utah Community Credit Union will be looking for a new president/CEO as its current leader, Bret VanAusdal, announced Monday that he plans on retiring within the next year.
Utah Community Credit Union ($2.9 billion in assets, 237,670 members) has been VanAusdal’s home for nearly three decades. Before taking the president/CEO position in 2018, VanAusdal served as EVP for 21 years.
Utah Community Board Chair Linda Makin said, “We recognize Bret’s unwavering dedication to improving the financial lives of UCCU’s members through pioneering advanced technologies to make financial services easier, safer and more convenient. We appreciate his ability to focus on and drive financial results.”
According to Monday’s announcement, the credit union has launched a nationwide search for its next leader with the help of executive search firm DDJ Myers.
Deedee Myers, PhD, founder/CEO of DDJ Myers, added, “UCCU’s Board has been proactive in its succession planning efforts and a comprehensive search process is already underway. As facilitator, we work very closely with the Board to thoroughly evaluate both internal and external candidates and find the best fit possible.”
