Utah Community CU’s Bret VanAusdal to Retire

VanAusdal has served as the credit union’s leader for nearly six years.

The Provo, Utah-based Utah Community Credit Union will be looking for a new president/CEO as its current leader, Bret VanAusdal, announced Monday that he plans on retiring within the next year.

Utah Community Credit Union ($2.9 billion in assets, 237,670 members) has been VanAusdal’s home for nearly three decades. Before taking the president/CEO position in 2018, VanAusdal served as EVP for 21 years.

According to Monday’s announcement, the credit union has launched a nationwide search for its next leader with the help of executive search firm DDJ Myers.

Deedee Myers, PhD, founder/CEO of DDJ Myers, added, “UCCU’s Board has been proactive in its succession planning efforts and a comprehensive search process is already underway. As facilitator, we work very closely with the Board to thoroughly evaluate both internal and external candidates and find the best fit possible.”
