The chairman of the Board of Directors for the $1.4 billion University of Virginia (UVA) Community Credit Union, Jeffrey Moscicki, died on Friday, Feb. 2, according to a statement from the credit union on Wednesday. He was 71.
Moscicki became chairman of the board in 1998 and his “leadership and vision were instrumental in shaping the credit union’s growth and success over the years,” according to UVA Community.
In a statement, UVA Community President/CEO Susan Gruber said, “I am deeply saddened by Jeff’s passing. I will always be appreciative of his impact at UVA Community Credit Union and his commitment to strengthening the financial wellness of our members and local community.”
Moscicki was a medical and clinical research professional who specialized in anesthesia and pharmacology. “His invaluable contributions to the credit union were marked by his steadfast commitment to the principles of financial well-being and community services,” according to UVA Community.
“The entire Board of Directors and credit union team extend their heartfelt condolences to the Moscicki family during this difficult time. Jeffrey leaves behind a legacy of dedication, integrity and passion for community service that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him,” the statement read.
As of this publication, there have been no announcements concerning a funeral or memorial service for Moscicki.
