6 New CU Appointments Include a Multicultural Engagement Director

Plus, three credit union executives are named to annual business leadership lists by regional publications.

Teresa Campbell

Teresa Campbell, president/CEO for the $13.4 billion, San Diego-based San Diego County Credit Union, was selected as a 2023/2024 Woman of Influence by SD Metro Magazine for the third consecutive year. This award recognizes the top women business leaders who have made significant positive contributions to San Diego’s workplaces and communities. She has over 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, 13 of which have been in San Diego, and currently serves on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s CU Advisory Committee. She also served a two-year term (2018-2020) on the CFPB’s Credit Union Advisory Council, as board chair of the California Credit Union League 2012 and 2013, and as board chair of the National Credit Union Foundation in 2022 and 2023. Campbell’s previous awards have included being selected as one of SD Metro Magazine’s Women of Accomplishment in 2022 and as a San Diego Business Woman of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal in 2021, as well as a Stevie Award for Women in Business and a Business Leadership Award from the North San Diego Business Chamber.

Jennifer Tarazon

The $18.4 billion, Sandy, Utah-based Mountain America Credit Union hired Jennifer Tarazon as director of multicultural engagement. Her main focus in her new role will be to establish relationships with underserved and underbanked demographics, with a specific emphasis on coordinating Spanish-language efforts within the credit union. Tarazon will represent the credit union with consulates, media outlets, associations, chambers, underserved and underbanked demographics, and other multicultural bodies and entities. She will also act as lead for a team of professionals from various departments, ensuring seamless collaboration across the organization. She is a Brigham Young University law school graduate and has previously served in professional and volunteer roles at organizations such as AARP Utah, the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services, Salt Lake County’s Office of Regional Economic Development, PBS Utah, the Suazo Business Center, TELACU Education Foundation and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Juhi Saha

Hudson Valley Credit Union ($7 billion, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) named Juhi Saha as an associate board member. In this role, she will participate in board meetings in a non-voting role, and may serve on individual committees. The Associate Board Member program allows members interested in serving in greater capacities in the future to learn more about HVCU and its governance and operations. She brings more than 15 years of leadership experience and currently serves as the CEO and founder of Parter1 LLC. She also held leadership roles at software companies such as Clearbit and Microsoft, and earned an MBA from the University of California, Berkley.

Cynthia Mingear

The $1.9 billion, Portsmouth, N.H.-based Northeast Credit Union hired Cynthia Mingear as an account executive on its business development team. In her new role, Mingear will help drive strategic business development initiatives and create new partnerships by identifying and working with local businesses. She brings extensive experience in business-to-business account management and consulting, having most recently served as a customer success manager for Engageware. She also held positions at the University of New Hampshire, Haven (a New Hampshire-based nonprofit) and enterprise software companies.

Tanya Verzoni

The $212 million, Waterville, Maine-based New Dimensions Federal Credit Union promoted Tanya Verzoni to vice president of human resources and talent development. In her new role, Verzoni will develop and execute HR strategies that attract, retain and develop talent to support the credit union’s growth. More specifically, she will oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, compensation analysis, benefits administration, employee engagement initiatives, and diversity, equity and inclusion programs. She will also continue leading the staff training function and oversight of the Financial Education Department. Verzoni joined New Dimensions in 2017 as director of financial education and staff development.

Jeremey Sterner

The $117 million Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union in York, Pa., promoted Jeremey Sterner to senior vice president of strategy and technology. Sterner has been the vice president of information technology at Heritage Valley since 2009 and has over 24 years of experience in the credit union industry. In his new role, he will provide executive leadership for Heritage Valley’s data management, payment and fintech strategies.

The $8.2 billion, Harrisburg, Pa.-based PSECU announced President/CEO George Rudolph and Chief Member Experience Officer Barb Bowker were named to the 2024 Top 100 People list by PA Business Central. This is Rudolph’s fourth consecutive year making the list and Bowker’s second consecutive year. The Top 100 People list aims to celebrate powerhouse individuals in business and economic development who have excelled in supporting their organizations and communities by exhibiting “the vision, dedication and drive to not only complete the task, but to envision, expand and excel.”

Rudolph was appointed president/CEO of PSECU in April 2019 and has nearly 30 years of leadership experience in the credit union and airline industries. He previously served as SVP of operations and technology at Alliant Credit Union ($18.4 billion, Chicago). Rudolph has also served on the America’s Credit Unions Technology Council’s Executive Committee and holds an MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

Bowker has been with PSECU for more than 30 years and served on various regional boards including the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. In addition, she is a member of the America’s Credit Unions Operations and Member Experience and Marketing and Business Development Councils.

Eric Sanchez

The $663 million, San Antonio, Texas-based Air Force Federal Credit Union promoted Eric Sanchez to vice president of sales and service. Sanchez has served as assistant vice president of sales and service for the credit union since August 2022. In his new role, he will spearhead the sales and growth strategy for AFFCU, overseeing multiple teams including a network of financial centers, a call center, virtual banking center and e-banking. Sanchez has over a decade of sales leadership experience, having held member-facing and leadership roles in various financial institutions. He holds a master of science in organizational development and leadership and an MBA in human resources management from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

Nichole Gurevitch

Allied Payment Network, Inc., a provider of online and mobile money movement solutions to banks and credit unions, hired Nichole Gurevitch as vice president of sales for its North and Midwest Region. Gurevitch brings over 20 years of experience in operational efficiency and process improvement. For the last nine years, she has concentrated on the fintech industry, focusing on collaborations with community banks and credit unions. Her expertise includes item processing, digital banking, customer experience and core software applications, with significant contributions at Alogent, Finastra and Agent IQ.
