David Sweiderk, president/CEO for the $5.2 billion, Linthicum, Md.-based SECU, was named to The Maryland Daily Record’s Power 100 List for 2023-2024. Sweiderk also received the recognition in 2021 and 2022. The Power 100 List spotlights the most influential people – from finance, health care, higher education and beyond – who play a large part in shaping the arts, culture, lifestyle, civic conversations and economy of Maryland. The honorees are chosen each year by The Daily Record’s editorial leadership team, along with feedback from readers and other stakeholders. Among other honors, Sweiderk has also been named to The Daily Record’s 2022 list of Influential Marylanders and the 2020 Most Admired CEO list.
The $3 billion, Fort Washington, Pa.-based TruMark Financial Credit Union announced three new hires.
Dana Brown was hired as chief retail banking officer. She brings over 35 years of banking experience, having most recently served as president of consumer services at Univest Bank and Trust Co. In her new role, Brown will oversee the branch network, member services center and wealth advisors team. In addition, she will play a pivotal role in shaping the credit union’s retail strategies, ensuring that TruMark Financial’s services seamlessly align with the needs of the communities they serve. Brown serves on the board of the AIDS Fund as treasurer.
Dana Rose was hired as vice president, director of retail administration. Rose brings over 20 years of experience in retail banking, having most recently served as director of consumer communication and operations at Univest Bank and Trust Co. In her new role, she will represent retail banking, closely working with risk management, compliance and marketing to develop and execute strategies to support their members and frontline teams, driving operational excellence across the credit union’s retail network.
Mark Barrett was hired as director of finance and vice president. Barrett previously served as vice president, finance at TD Bank for 15 years.
Andrews Federal Credit Union ($2.3 billion, Suitland, Md.) hired Christopher Burgess as vice president of marketing. In his new role, Burgess will be responsible for leading strategic marketing and communications efforts for the credit union. He brings extensive experience leading teams and initiatives for global brands including Hilton Worldwide, L.L. Bean and Choice Hotels International, as well as credit union leadership experience as vice president of marketing and communications at Northwest Federal Credit Union ($4.5 billion, Herndon, Va.). Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and communications at Evenly Technologies. Burgess has also served on the Think with Google Advisory Council.
The $467 million, Wethersfield, Conn.-based Dutch Point Credit Union hired Stacey Collins as chief experience officer. Collins brings over 20 years of experience in operations, business strategy and talent development. She holds the Senior Professional Human Resources, Certified Customer Experience Professional and User Experience certifications.
SOUTH
The $873 million, Clarksville, Tenn.-based Fortera Federal Credit Union promoted Cliff Sweet to SVP of retail operations. He joined Fortera in January 2022 as vice president of operations. Prior to joining Fortera, Sweet served as vice president of retail operations for the $332 million, Orlando, Fla.-based Orlando Credit Union. During his 20-year career in the credit union movement, Sweet has held nearly every role within retail operations, rising from teller to executive, and has worked in credit unions ranging in asset size from $300 million to $2 billion. He also served six years in the Florida Army National Guard.
LEAGUES
The Dakota Credit Union Foundation, the charitable arm of the Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU), made two appointments to its board of directors.
Lisa Snedeker, branch manager at Dakotaland Federal Credit Union ($612 million, Huron, S.D.), was appointed to a South Dakota at-large seat. Snedeker brings more than 20 years of service in the credit union movement and has held officer positions on several local boards, including the Woonsocket Development Corporation, Woonsocket School Board, Associated School Boards of SD and a community daycare.
Shannon Webster, SVP of marketing for Town and Country Credit Union ($672 million, Minot, N.D.) was appointed to a North Dakota at-large seat. Webster is a previous board member for DakCU and has been with Town and Country since 2012. Before that, she was the marketing director for the ND State Fair. She is also a previous president of the Minot Young Professionals in Minot, N.D.
VENDORS
The New York, N.Y.-based customer interaction platform provider Glia hired Rebecca Martin into the newly-created role of chief marketing officer. Martin brings more than 20 years of experience, and in her new role, she is responsible for Glia’s revenue marketing, content and industry strategy, customer marketing and corporate communications. She most recently served as chief marketing officer for financial services customer engagement platform provider Total Expert. Prior to that, Martin was chief marketing officer at Calabrio, a workforce engagement management company. Additionally, she has held marketing leadership roles at Code42, Stellent and Oracle, and serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Technology Association.
