Royce Ngiam Royce Ngiam

The $868 million, Altadena, Calif.-based First City Credit Union hired Royce Ngiam as chief marketing officer. In his new role, Ngiam is entrusted with driving the brand while engaging and accelerating member growth. Ngiam brings over 25 years of experience in banking/credit unions. Prior to joining First City, he held various executive marketing and development roles at credit unions such as Financial Partners Credit Union ($2.2 billion, Downey, Calif.) and Partners Federal Credit Union ($2.4 billion, Burbank, Calif.). Ngiam currently serves as the chair of CUNA's Marketing and Business Development Council, holds the Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation from the National Credit Union Foundation and is co-host of The Leadership Experiment podcast. He holds an MBA with an emphasis in marketing from the University of California, Riverside.

Angela Cooper Angela Cooper

The $2.1 billion, Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Consumers Credit Union hired Angela Cooper as the office manager of its new East Lansing, Mich., office, which is set to open in spring 2024. In her role with Consumers, Cooper will use her over 17 years of experience to coach and develop office team members to reach their highest potential while striving to create a supportive and inclusive culture where all can thrive.

Veridian Credit Union ($7.1 billion, Waterloo, Iowa) announced two promotions.

Joe Lichty was promoted to vice president of consumer lending. Lichty has 20 years of experience at the credit union, having most recently served as manager of consumer lending. He currently serves on the board of directors for Volunteer Center Cedar Valley.

Steve Klein was promoted to vice president of branches. Klein has 21 years of experience at the credit union, having most recently served as regional manager. He is an active volunteer for Cedar Valley United Way's Financial Stability Program and Linn-Mar Youth Baseball.

Patty Corkery Patty Corkery

CU Solutions Group (CUSG), a majority-owned CUSO of the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL), appointed Patty Corkery to lead CUSG effective July 1, 2024. Corkery will lead both the MCUL and CUSG under a joint management structure. Since May 2021, Corkery has served as CEO of the MCUL as well as a board member of CUSG's 12-person Board of Directors. In addition to her 25 years of credit union industry experience as an attorney with Holzman Corkery (now Holzman Law) and with MCUL, Corkery serves as chairwoman of League Infosight, and as a board member for the American Association of Credit Union Leagues and the Credit Union House on Capitol Hill. She has a law degree from Wayne State University Law School and an MBA from Walsh College.

Corkery will succeed Dave Adams, who led MCUL for 24 years and CUSG for almost 27 years upon his retirement. Adams had continued as CEO of CUSG under a temporary independent management structure since May 2021, which now returns to joint leadership on July 1, 2024.

Natasha Chilingerian has been immersed in the credit union industry for over a decade. She first joined CU Times in 2011 as a freelance writer, and following a two-year hiatus from 2013-2015, during which time she served as a communications specialist for Xceed Financial Credit Union (now Kinecta Federal Credit Union), she re-joined the CU Times team full-time as managing editor. She was promoted to executive editor in 2019.
