The $124 million, Washington, D.C.-based Labor Credit Union announced the passing of its board chair, Dr. Kevin Jackson Ph.D, Thursday.
Jackson joined the Labor CU board in 2014 and was appointed chair in 2021. According to the credit union, during Jackson's two-and-a-half years as chair of the board, Labor CU expanded its field of membership to multiple underserved groups and organizations, including students and faculty of the University of the District of Columbia and members of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement. In addition, Jackson was responsible for the vision behind the credit union's newly-established 501(c)3 organization, The Labor Community Foundation, whose mission is to help create opportunities to empower individuals and help them grow in their career development.
