Hughes FCU, TowerCares & Robins Financial Make Board Appointments
Plus, OnPath FCU promotes two to director positions.
WEST
The $1.9 billion, Tucson, Ariz.-based Hughes Federal Credit Union announced three board appointments.
Sharon Schaum joined the board of directors and will serve a two-year term. Schaum brings over 30 years of experience in both the aerospace and defense industry and the financial banking industry. She currently serves at Raytheon Missiles & Defense within the Supply Chain Management organization. During her 20-plus years there, she has worked as a production control manager, material program manager and is currently an international supplier performance manager. She holds an MBA in organizational management from Capella University in Minneapolis and an MBA in global management from the University of Phoenix.
Andrew Britton was reelected to the board of directors and will serve a three-year term. Britton served in the U.S. Air Force from 1984 to 1991 before beginning his 32-year career in the credit union industry. He joined Hughes in 2003 as collections manager and was later promoted to lending and collections manager in 2006, vice president of lending in 2010 and president in April 2023. Britton has been a member of the Hughes Delinquent Loan Committee for 20 years, Asset Liability Management Committee for 12 years and also served on the Facilities Planning Committee. He is treasurer of the board of directors.
Fabian Cordova was reelected to the board of directors and will serve a three-year term. Cordova brings over 29 years of internal operations leadership experience, including finance and accounting, IT and system integration, human resources, contract and risk management, and business and partnership development. He currently serves as CFO of early-stage aerospace technology companies, FreeFall Aerospace Inc. and FreeFall 5G Inc., and previously served as COO and CFO of the University of Arizona Alumni Association, and led the financial and internal operations of Clinical Outcomes Solutions (an international pharma-consulting firm). He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Arizona. Cordova also serves as chair of the Amphitheater School District Foundation, treasurer of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Arizona’s Oro Valley, and as a board member of the Marshall Foundation. Prior to his appointment to the Hughes board of directors, he served as chair of the Hughes Supervisory Committee since 2014.
Richard Miller was reelected to the board of directors and will serve a three-year term. Miller retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2010 after 20 years in an active duty and guard status as an inventory management technician. From 1999 to 2007, he worked in accounting and finance for Raytheon Missile Systems. He moved to BE Aerospace in 2007 and worked for 12 years as a program finance manager. In 2019, he returned to Raytheon as a program integrator. He holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and has served on the Hughes Supervisory Committee and board of directors for the past 21 years. He has also completed nine volumes in the credit union’s Volunteer Achievement Program, reaching two award levels and currently serving on the cybersecurity, education/marketing, facilities planning and legislative committees.
EAST
The TowerCares Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the $4.4 billion, Laurel, Md.-based Tower Federal Credit Union, announced two board appointments.
Allen Brisentine III was appointed chairman of the board of directors. Brisentine has served on the TowerCares board since the foundation’s start in 2015 and also previously served on Tower Federal’s volunteer board for the past decade. He recently retired after 37 years of federal service with the government. Brisentine replaces retiring TowerCares Board Chairman George Cumberledge, who served as board chair from 2015 to 2023 and on Tower Federal’s board for 50 years – 14 of those as chair.
Monte Dzurenko was appointed as a TowerCares Foundation board member. Dzurenko has worked for the Department of Defense for over 37 years and is a Certified Public Accountant. He currently serves as a director on Tower Federal’s board and travels the world with Habitat for Humanity helping to build houses in third world countries.
SOUTH
The $620 million, Metairie, La.-based OnPath Federal Credit Union announced two promotions.
Hollie Apple-Kratzberg was promoted to director of mortgage. Apple-Kratzberg joined OnPath in 2013 as a mortgage loan officer, bringing with her an extensive background in banking and customer service. She moved into mortgage operations in 2022 as mortgage operations manager.
Rachel Adams-Bolanos was promoted to director of marketing. Adams-Bolanos joined OnPath in October 2022 as marketing operations manager after 25 years in the media marketing and sales sector.
The $4.2 billion, Warner Robins, Ga.-based Robins Financial Credit Union announced six new board and audit committee appointments.
Ed Wolfe and John Kubinec were appointed to the board of directors. Wolfe and Kubinec will play a crucial role in guiding the credit union’s strategic plan, setting policies, managing risk and upholding the credit union’s core values. They will also work closely with senior leadership teams to execute initiatives as well as give back to the community through the credit union’s various charitable giving programs.
Ann Woodruff, Gregory Huttner, Jonathan Pitts and Sonya Jenkins were appointed to the credit union’s audit committee. In these roles, they will review operational, compliance and examination reports to ensure that the credit union is managed in a manner that is fiscally and ethically sound.
