ORNL Federal Credit Union Names Jenny Vipperman as Its Next CEO
She will succeed the retiring Colin Anderson, who served the Tennessee credit union for more than 10 years.
Jenny Vipperman will become the next president/CEO of Tennessee’s fourth largest credit union by assets on Oct. 1, the board of directors for ORNL Federal Credit Union said Friday.
She will succeed Colin Anderson, who will retire after serving more than 10 years at the Oak Ridge-based credit union, including eight years as president/CEO.
During Anderson’s CEO tenure, ORNL FCU grew assets from $1.6 billion in 2015 to $3.4 billion at the end of this year’s second quarter, while loans increased from $1.2 billion to $2.8 billion and membership expanded from 146,261 to nearly 196,000, according to NCUA Call Reports.
Vipperman, with more than 15 years in the credit union industry, joins ORNL FCU from the $13.6 billion VyStar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., where she served as chief lending officer. She also serves as the current fundraising committee chair and past board secretary of the National Credit Union Foundation, co-chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association Credit Union Network, and a contributor to the World Council of Credit Unions, with engagements in Guatemala, Peru and Ecuador.
Before VyStar, Vipperman also worked as chief lending officer for the $2.7 billion Chartway Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach, Va., vice president of consumer lending at the $4.4 billion Tower Federal Credit Union in Laurel, Md., and director of indirect lending at the $4.3 billion Apple Federal Credit Union in Fairfax, Va.
“We are excited to have Jenny join the ORNL FCU team. She is a nationally recognized credit union leader whose commitment to the credit union movement is demonstrated through her personal and professional work to improve the financial lives of all members,” ORNL FCU Board Chair Randy Gorman said. “Her unique experience and expertise of the credit union industry will be essential as ORNL FCU continues to grow and be the best financial partner for our members.”
ORNL FCU’s 486 employees operate 28 branches, serving 19 counties in Eastern Tennessee.
