Debbie Cook

Sun East Federal Credit Union ($878 million, Aston, Pa.) promoted Debbie Cook to the role of president, effective July 31. She most recently served as EVP/CFO for Sun East. In her new role, Cook will work closely with Sun East’s CEO, Michael Kaczenski, as she oversees the accounting/finance, lending, collections, marketing, risk management, branches, call center, payment solutions and member relationships departments. She has served Sun East as a senior finance executive for more than a decade and has over 30 years of industry experience. Before joining Sun East, she served as an examiner for the NCUA and in various finance and accounting roles at Del-One Federal Credit Union ($650 million, Dover, Del.). Cook was chosen as a Philadelphia Business Journal 2022 CFO of the Year Honoree and holds a Certified Chief Executive designation through the CUES CEO Institute.

James Aldredge

The $2.4 billion Andrews Federal Credit Union in Suitland, Md., announced two promotions.

James Aldredge was promoted to assistant vice president of deposit strategy. Aldredge has been with Andrews Federal for more than 29 years and served in multiple departments, including deposit services, information technology and payment services.

John Masterson was promoted to vice president of retail delivery. Masterson joined Andrews Federal in 2020 as director of branch operations. His prior experience includes retail and operations leadership in the credit union industry.

Sean Leavell

The $2 billion, Duluth, Ga.-based Georgia United Credit Union hired Sean Leavell as vice president of project management, effective July 17. In his new role, Leavell oversees the office of strategic execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. He is also responsible for implementing project management best practices, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement to achieve strategic objectives. Leavell most recently served as vice president of project portfolio strategy at the $2.4 billion Atlanta Postal Credit Union, and prior to that as vice president of business transformation and the project management office at Georgia’s Own Credit Union ($4.5 billion, Atlanta).

Erica Davis

The $965 million Greater Texas Credit Union in Austin hired Erica Davis as branch manager of the Cedar Park branch in Cedar Park, Texas. Davis brings nearly a decade of credit union experience to Greater Texas, having most recently served at another credit union, where she was an assistant branch manager and worked in member services. In her new role, she focuses on leading and enhancing branch operations, and strengthening member relations. She is also responsible for the branch’s community relations initiatives by serving and supporting the state’s Cedar Park and Leander Chambers’ of Commerce and various charitable organizations. Davis is also a certified Life Coach.

Troy Taylor

CUSO Home Lending, a licensed mortgage company owned by Maine credit unions, hired Troy Taylor as vice president of servicing and loss mitigation. Taylor brings more than 30 years of experience in the field of financial services, with a focus on mortgage servicing, and more than a dozen years in leadership positions. He previously worked at companies including Norwest Mortgage, CitiFinancial and Cenlar FSB, as well as at smaller firms and credit unions such as Andrews Federal Credit Union and Cascade Financial Services.

DaeSean Ashby

The Michigan Credit Union League hired DaeSean Ashby as director of state advocacy. Ashby most recently served at Acuitas LLC, a multi-client lobbying firm in downtown Lansing, Mich., where he focused on energy, education and economic development. Prior to joining Acuitas, he served as a staff member in the state House Democratic Caucus in several roles, notably as a policy advisor for the Caucus’s members on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Regulatory Reform Committee.
