OUCU Expands Branding Partnership on Oakland University Campus

The credit union signs a multi-year deal as the exclusive partner for the Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

So far this year, Oakland University Credit Union (OU Credit Union) has made significant steps to become a giant branding presence for the 15,000 students who attend the university situated just north of Detroit.

In April, the credit union spent $5 million in a naming rights deal to rename the university’s basketball and volleyball arena to the OU Credit Union O’rena.

On June 5, OU Credit Union, the official credit union of the university that was established as a trade name of the $7.2 billion Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) in 2013, announced a new multi-year partnership with Detroit live entertainment company 313 Presents to become the exclusive branding partner for the university’s Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

While terms of the agreement were not made public, OU Credit Union is the exclusive presenting partner and official credit union of Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. According to the announcement, 313 Presents will incorporate OU Credit Union branding components, including signage and graphic displays throughout the venue grounds and social and web integration online.

Oakland University’s Vice President of Communications and Marketed, John Young added, “We are thrilled that Oakland University Credit Union has entered into this exciting partnership with 313 Presents for the Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. This is a perfect partner for a site with such deep roots and history.”

313 Presents oversees managing, marketing and booking of the 7,700-capacity amphitheater as part of an agreement with Oakland University.

The new season at the amphitheater kicks off Friday, June 9.
