John Schenk

The $2.9 billion, Indianapolis-based Indiana Members Credit Union announced eight promotions within its operations team.

John Schenk was promoted to vice president, finance. Schenk has been with IMCU since 2020 as vice president, deposit operations and has 24 years of financial experience. As vice president, finance, he will have an expanded role overseeing treasury services, as well as asset/liability management and the credit union’s investment portfolio. Schenk is a Certified Public Accountant.

Robin Binford was promoted to assistant vice president, member services. Binford has been with IMCU since 2017 and previously served as director, card services. She has 30 years of financial services experience. In her new role, Binford will oversee card operations, digital channels and member services.

Kellie Padgett was promoted to director of member services. Padgett has been with IMCU for 21 years, serving in the roles of pool teller, assistant teller supervisor, employee development specialist and most recently member service manager. In her new role, Padgett will oversee the call center and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs).

Nichole Rowe was promoted to director, employee development. Rowe has been with IMCU for 10 years and has held the positions of career associate, account service representative, employee development specialist, employee development coordinator and manager. In her new role, Rowe will oversee the employee development department, as well as be responsible for evaluation, development and implementation of training programs. She will also continue to serve as an employee support resource.

Lori Blackwell was promoted to assistant vice president, enterprise risk management. Blackwell has been with IMCU since 2021 as a result of its merger with Members Choice Federal Credit Union, where she served as president/CEO. In her new role, she will oversee vendor due diligence, risk assessment, business continuity and other risk areas.

Kelly Gridley was promoted to assistant vice president, deposit operations. Gridley has been with IMCU for nine years and previously held the positions of director, enterprise risk management and assistant vice president, enterprise risk management. In her new role, she will oversee deposit operations, plan accounts, items processing and fraud. Gridley holds an MBA in applied management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Stephanie Johnson was promoted to director of compliance. Johnson has been with IMCU for 16 years and has served in various roles including teller, assistant and teller supervisor, employee development specialist, account service representative and compliance manager. In her new role, she will oversee the compliance and risk departments. Johnson is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer.

Candace Johnson was promoted to director of mortgage services. Johnson has been with IMCU for seven years serving as an underwriter manager. She has 33 years of financial services experience. In her new role, Johnson will manage mortgage underwriters for first mortgage and home equity teams, as well as manage the mortgage administration team. She holds an FHA Direct Endorsement underwriting designation, and a VA Underwriting and VA SAR certification.

Michael Beam

The $1.3 billion, Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union announced two promotions and one new hire.

Michael Beam was promoted to COO. He will also continue to serve as CFO, a role he has held since 1986. During his nearly 37 years with the credit union, in addition to his traditional CFO responsibilities, Beam has overseen a wide variety of crucial areas within the credit union.

Maggie Prohs was promoted to vice president of operations. Prohs has been with Palmetto Citizens for over 20 years and served in several capacities, beginning as a member service supervisor and working her way up to the role of service center manager. In 2015, she took over the role of operations manager. In her new role, Prohs oversees several areas including fraud, card services, account compliance, remote deposits and ATM operations.

Elizabeth Bunn was hired as chief investment officer. Bunn brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. She most recently served as treasurer at a South Carolina-based community bank and previously as a treasurer at a large national bank. In her new role, she will manage the investment portfolio of the credit union and oversee its asset liability management.

Origence, the Irvine, Calif.-based provider of lending technology solutions for credit unions, announced five board appointments during its annual shareholders meeting. All appointments became effective on April 20.

Bob McKay, president/CEO of Together Credit Union ($2.4 billion, St. Louis, Mo.) and an incumbent director, was elected as a board member. He will serve as vice chairperson of the board.

Ron Neumann, president/CEO of the $3.4 billion, Eugene, Ore.-based Oregon Community Credit Union and a former associate director, was elected as a board member.

Sandra Sagehorn-Elliott, president/CEO of the $2.7 billion, Tucson, Ariz.-based Vantage West Credit Union and a former associate director, was elected as a board member.
