Board of Montana’s Credit Unions Appoints New President/CEO
CUNA Mutual Group Vice President Gerry Singleton will become the trade association’s new leader after Tracie Kenyon retires.
The board of directors of Montana’s Credit Unions said Friday that Gerry Singleton will become the trade association’s new president/CEO in May.
He will succeed Tracie Kenyon, who announced her retirement last August following nearly 22 years of service at the helm.
“We are excited to have Gerry join Montana’s Credit Unions as our next president/CEO and continue leading us through this ever-changing credit union landscape,” Board Chair Jeremy Presta, who is also president/CEO of the $423 million Park Side Credit Union in Whitefish, said in a prepared statement. “When you have an exceptional organization as I feel we do, it attracts exceptional people and Gerry fits that description perfectly. We look forward to introducing or reintroducing Gerry to the rest of our amazing credit unions and for him to continue our history of having a strong and inspirational leader.”
The board said Singleton stood out from the other candidates who interviewed for the top job with his experience, passion and vision for how Montana’s Credit Unions will continue to be an independent and thriving resource.
Montana is home to 45 credit unions insured by the NCUA and one credit union that is insured by American Share Insurance.
Singleton has served for nearly 25 years as a vice president of credit union system relations at CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wis. Before joining the credit union movement, he worked as a manager for Yellowstone National Park, according to his LinkedIn professional profile page.
“I am thrilled to join Montana’s Credit Unions as their next president/CEO. Montana’s Credit Unions – its top-notch staff, committed board and passionate member credit unions – has been highly effective in delivering quality advocacy, programs and services across the state, truly living out its mission of enhancing a thriving Montana community,” Singleton said in a prepared statement. “Montanans, and the communities in which they live, need credit unions now more than ever as they face today’s challenges, and we are uniquely positioned to serve them through the credit union difference.”
In addition to his professional experience, he has served on the boards of the National Credit Union Foundation and CUNA Mutual Foundation, and on the advisory board of the CUFinHealth Fund.
Singleton lives in Belgrade with his family.
