About a month after beginning his new job on Jan. 3 and just two and a half weeks before his official industry debut at 2023's GAC on Feb. 26, Robert E. Lewis Jr. suddenly left his position as CUNA's chief advocacy officer in recent days.
CUNA issued the following statement to CU Times:
"Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and Robert Lewis have parted ways. CUNA leadership and its team of credit union advocacy professionals remain steadfastly focused on the 360 degree, 365 day a year job of fiercely and boldly advocating for credit unions."

One source said information about Lewis' abrupt departure was received Monday but no reason was provided by CUNA's leadership.
CU Times has more on this developing story, here.
