CUs in Michigan, Delaware, California, Maine & Wyoming Name New CEOs
Janell Upton will take over the corner office at Dover FCU in January and Jeff Brehmer will lead TLC Community CU in March.
Jeff Brehmer will become president/CEO of the $688 million TLC Community Credit Union in Adrian, Mich., in March, the board of directors announced.
He will succeed Randy Smith, who is retiring after 43 years of service. Smith began working at TLC Community in the loan department in 1980 and was appointed CEO in 2000.
Brehmer joined the credit union in 2015 when he volunteered to serve as a member of TLC Community’s Supervisory Committee and then as a board director and treasurer. In 2018 he was hired as vice president of administration and most recently served as TLC Community’s EVP.
Before joining the credit union, Brehmer was EVP and CFO for the Automobile Racing Club of America. He also served as general manager of logistics and operations for Holcim, according to his LinkedIn professional profile page.
TLC Community operates six locations and serves nearly 55,000 members.
Janell Upton will start her new job in January as president/CEO of the $628 million Dover Federal Credit Union in Dover, Del., the board of directors said.
She succeeds Chaz Rzewnicki, who was appointed president/CEO at the $1.1 billion Vibe Credit Union in Novi, Mich., in August 2022. Dover CFO Donna Kiscaden served as interim CEO and will be returning to her CFO duties on Jan. 23.
With more than 25 years of experience, Upton most recently served as EVP at the $1.5 billion Educational Federal Credit Union in Miami. She also previously served as a senior executive at the $11.9 billion AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union in Anchorage, and as a lending manager for the $190 million Sky Federal Credit Union in Livingston, Mont.
Dover FCU runs seven branches and serves more than 44,000 members.
Audrey Pappas has been appointed president/CEO of the $286 million CAHP Credit Union in Sacramento, Calif., the board of directors said.
She succeeded Brad Houle, who left the credit union in November after he was named president/CEO of the $641 million Town & Country Credit Union in Minot, N.D.
Pappas joined California Highway Patrol Credit Union in 1991 and served as its EVP for 10 years before her CEO appointment.
CAHP runs three locations and serves more than 20,000 members.
The board of directors for the $239 million NorState Federal Credit Union in Madawaska, Maine appointed Jeffrey Davenport as president/CEO.
He succeeds Susan G. Whitehead, who retired after serving nine years as the credit union’s first female CEO.
Davenport holds more than 35 years of experience as a credit union executive.
Before joining NorState as its COO last year, he served as a strategic consultant for CUNA Mutual Group, helping credit unions of all sizes throughout the eastern half of the U.S. with financial and strategic management challenges.
NorState runs six branches and serves more than 14,600 members.
In Cody, Wyo., the $202 million Sunlight Federal Credit Union named Julie Dunham president/CEO.
Dunham joined the credit union working as a teller and was later promoted to an office manager position. In 2019, she was named COO and human resources director.
Sunlight runs four locations and serves more than 9,100 members.
