Mark Wilburn will become interim president/CEO of the $1 billion Truity Credit Union in Bartlesville, Okla., in January when current President/CEO Dennis Halpin retires, the board of directors said Wednesday.

Halpin announced his retirement in October.

Wilburn, who is currently serving as EVP, has 42 years of experience in the financial industry including more than 25 years working with Truity.

“Mark Wilburn is highly regarded and equipped to handle any situation,” Truity Board Chair Brent Boeve said in a prepared statement. “He will be a great leader for Truity.”

Executive recruiting firm Humanidei O’Rourke is assisting Truity’s board to select a permanent CEO.

The credit union’s 212 employees run six branches and serve more than 72,000 members.
