5 Credit Unions, 2 CUSOs Announce Professional Milestones
PSECU, First Service CU and First Commerce CU are among the CUs to recently hire and promote executives.
EAST
The $8.3 billion PSECU in Harrisburg, Pa., announced two new hires.
Jose Pascual was hired as head of mortgage. Pascual brings over 25 years of experience in lending, having most recently served as EVP for real estate originations at BBVA, USA. He has experience leading multiple disciplines including residential and commercial real estate, finance and securities. Pascual earned a master’s in finance from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., as well as a master of real estate development from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a corporate management executive master from the IESE School of Business, Madrid in Spain. He also holds an Executive Leadership certification from The Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia.
Darren Neuschwander was hired as head of consumer lending. Neuschwander also brings 25 years of experience in lending and financial services, having most recently served as SVP market manager within Auto for the Central Market at Wells Fargo. He has experience leading multiple disciplines in lending including sales, credit, operations and collections. Neuschwander holds a graduate degree in banking from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
David Sweiderk, president/CEO of the $5.1 billion, Linthicum, Md.-based SECU, was named to the Baltimore Business Journal’s 2022 listing of Power 10 CEO Honorees. The publication’s Power 10 CEO Honorees is an annual list of business leaders who have made a substantial impact on their industries, companies and communities, and who are highly regarded for their industry knowledge. The list encompasses 10 C-level executives from the Baltimore area.
SOUTH
The $1.3 billion, Houston-based First Service Credit Union promoted Nolan Waltman to chief growth officer. In his new role, Waltman will focus on strategic growth objectives through sales, product development and member satisfaction. In addition, he will oversee the contact center, marketing department and centralized sales team at First Service. Waltman joined First Service in 2008 and has held numerous managerial positions, including branch manager, vice president of branch operations and vice president of sales. He currently serves on the boards of the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions and eCU Technology.
The $226 million Service One Credit Union in Bowling Green, Ky., announced two promotions.
Tammy Turner was promoted to branch manager of Service One’s Campbell Lane Branch in Bowling Green. Turner joined Service One in 2019 and has more than 13 years of banking experience. She is a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor and recently completed Service One’s branch management and leadership training program.
Nicole Simoneau was promoted to assistant branch manager of the Campbell Lane Branch. She began her banking career more than five years ago and joined Service One in 2019.
The $983 million, Tallahassee, Fla.-based First Commerce Credit Union promoted Angela Terhune to SVP/CFO. She previously served as vice president of risk management and has been with First Commerce for more than 19 years. During her first 15 years with the credit union, she held positions in the accounting department, starting as an accountant, then a financial analyst and ultimately rising to assistant controller. In 2018, she was promoted to serve as the first director of the credit union’s newly-created risk management department. In 2021, she was promoted to vice president of risk management. In her new role, Terhune will oversee accounting and finance operations to manage First Commerce’s nearly $1 billion in assets. She graduated from the Southeast Regional Credit Union School, CUNA’s Financial Management Schools, where she received a Certificate of Excellence for High Standards of Excellence. She also holds a Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert designation.
CUSOS
Members Development Company, a research and development CUSO in Kansas City, Mo., announced a promotion and a new hire.
Megan Hildebrandt was promoted to director of events. Hildebrandt first worked with MDC as a contracted meeting planner in 2008, and joined MDC’s staff full-time in 2019 as a meeting and event planner. She previously launched her own event planning business in 2002, as well as served as director of events and mission initiatives for Susan G. Komen Minnesota. In her new role, Hildebrandt will continue to take the lead on strategy and execution for the CUSO’s industry events.
Kerri Schlottman was hired as digital marketing and engagement manager. Schlottman brings an extensive background in customer experience and marketing in a variety of industries, having previously served at Citizens Bank Minnesota, Smead Manufacturing and Avtex Solutions. In her new role, she will direct the CUSO’s online and digital communication efforts.
Member Business Financial Services (MBFS), a business loan funding CUSO headquartered in Trevose, Pa., hired Craig Page as chief revenue officer. Page previously served as president/CEO for the business lending CUSO Extensia Financial, according to his LinkedIn profile. He brings extensive experience in commercial real estate originations and risk management, including over 25 years of senior-level experience across real estate, lending and financial services. In his new role, Page will be instrumental in assisting the CUSO in developing a nationwide presence in the loan origination and participation marketplace, while forming new credit union partnerships.
