The $324 million Alltrust Credit Union in Fairhaven, Mass., promoted Jaime Bourgeois to assistant vice president, loan servicing manager. Bourgeois joined Alltrust in 2018 as mortgage loan servicing manager and one of the first employees to start the credit union's loan servicing department. In this role, she was responsible for growing the loan servicing team. In her new role, Bourgeois will continue to oversee and manage the loan servicing department and all system administrative functions. She will also be responsible for investor reporting, core system-related integrations for loan servicing and consumer lending, and commercial lending reporting. Bourgeois serves on the Special Education Parent Advisory Council at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River, Mass.

Brittany Hopkins Brittany Hopkins

The $451 million University Credit Union in Orono, Maine hired Brittany Hopkins as a community engagement manager. In her new role, she will represent UCU from the credit union's headquarters in Orono, covering central Maine alongside Community Engagement Managers Jenn Deschene in Presque Isle, Maine and Lesley Ridge in Portland, Maine. Hopkins will work to build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the financial well-being of Maine people by volunteering and participating in local activities; serving on nonprofit boards and committees; hosting financial education workshops and events to improve financial literacy; engaging with local municipalities, schools and institutions as a community partner; and identifying opportunities for financial sponsorship. She joins UCU from the University of Maine, where she worked in the Office of Admissions and the Advanced Structures and Composites Center since 2016.

Kail Venema Kail Venema

The $1.9 billion, Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Consumers Credit Union announced two new hires and one promotion.

Kail Venema was hired as a mortgage loan officer and will serve members in the Grand Rapids, Mich., market. According to his LinkedIn page, he most recently served as a loan officer for Northpointe Bank in Grand Rapids for four years.

Michael Massa was hired as a mortgage loan officer, also serving members in the Grand Rapids market. According to this LinkedIn page, he most recently served at Northpointe Bank for a year and a half, and has been CEO of Massa Properties LLC for 20 years.

Vanna Stevens was promoted to the position of mortgage loan officer. Stevens joined Consumers in 2020 as a member service representative after working in the customer service industry for several years. In her new role, she will assist Consumers members at its Cascade office in the Grand Rapids market as they navigate the home loan process, working to make the experience as seamless as possible.

The $5.9 billion, Oklahoma City, Okla.-based Tinker Federal Credit Union announced two new hires.

Andrew Akard Andrew Akard

Andrew Akard was hired as vice president, manager of special services. In his new role, Akard directs building construction, remodeling, maintenance, janitorial services and lawn care for TFCU's branches and corporate offices. In addition, he ensures that the member's perspective is a driving force behind TFCU's strategic priorities, business decisions and organizational processes in existing and future TFCU locations. Prior to joining TFCU, Akard served in the US Navy for eight years as an operations intelligence specialist, where he served as a mentor and advisor to the Afghan National Army in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. After separating from the military, he worked in operations for property management and commercial real estate companies, most recently as the director of operations at Simon Property Group. Akard holds an MBA from Loyola University Maryland.

Dustin Shanks was hired as senior commercial loan officer. In his new role, Shanks works with businesses to find lending options that work best for their needs. He also helps members with expanded small business and commercial banking services, including commercial lending, SBA financing, member business checking and other business-related financial services. Shanks joins TFCU with 17 years of commercial banking experience.

Brooke Stites Brooke Stites

Curql Collective in Des Moines, Iowa hired Brooke Stites as operations manager. In her new role, Stites is responsible for overseeing business functions and initiatives for the Curql Collective, including accounting, contract management, marketing and other essential business activities. She will also help drive engagement and collaboration among credit unions, CUSOs and fintech innovators looking to transform the member experience in financial services. Stites, an operations professional with experience in technology and licensing, recently spent 12 years as vice president of operations for Affinity Marketing Consultants, a technology company and licensing agency working with nonprofit membership-based organizations and associations. She holds a master's of arts from the University of Southern California, serves as secretary of the Arts Education Connection San Diego and as lead chapter relations and standards specialist for Alpha Chi Omega, in addition to serving on the board of San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic.
