Jeff Fielder will become president/CEO of Advia Credit Union in Kalamazoo, Mich., in early 2023, the board of directors said.

He will succeed current President/CEO Cheryl DeBoer, who announced her retirement in February, the credit union said in an Aug. 15 prepared statement.

Since her CEO appointment in 2004, Advia has grown from $273 million in assets, eight branches and 52,000 members to $2.8 billion in assets, 29 branches and more than 192,000 members across Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois, according to the credit union.

“We will greatly miss Cheryl as Advia’s president & CEO and thank her for the incredible contributions she has made throughout her career to the credit union movement, and more importantly, the significant value for her membership and Advia employees,” Advia Board Chair Nicole Kalmbach said. “Her dedication and passion in living out Advia’s core values and mission of providing financial advantages provides long-term benefits to those she’s worked with, and members’ lives impacted during her leadership tenure.”

Fielder joined Advia in 2007 as an internal auditor. Since then, he has served as manager of finance and accounting and EVP of finance, and currently serves as CFO.

“We’ve really chosen the right candidate to lead Advia’s continued growth,” Kalmbach said. “Jeff has vast experience in leadership, finance and our credit union industry. He is well positioned for this next step.”
