For the past six months, Mark Burgess has been the interim president/CEO of the Anchorage, Alaska-based Credit Union 1. On Friday, the credit union announced Burgess could remove "interim" from his title and officially step into the credit union's leadership role.

According to a statement from Credit Union 1 ($1.4 billion in assets, 95,781 members), Burgess came to the credit union in 2018 as its chief technology officer. After a nationwide search for its new leader, CU1 Board Chairman Steve Cavin said the best candidate for the job came from within.
