A group of leaders from four credit unions joined Co-op Solutions and Constellation Digital Partners to create a task force with a goal of finding better and faster ways to integrate online and mobile banking features members want into more credit unions’ digital platforms.

On Tuesday, the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based Co-op Solutions announced the unique task force creation, co-led by the Raleigh, N.C.-based open development platform CUSO, Constellation Digital Partners. The two CUSOs are looking to their credit union partners to create smoother integration of Co-op’s digital applications into Constellation’s mobile and online platforms.

“Partnering with Constellation and our credit union clients on this task force will accelerate smooth integration of lifestyle-banking solutions,” Co-op Vice President, Strategic Business Development Gail Tofil said. “This is about momentum in the digital space. The faster we reach our integration objectives, the sooner credit unions will reap the rewards of Co-op’s and Constellation’s investments in digital transformation.”

Joining the task force are leaders from the Burbank, Calif.-based Farmers Insurance Group Federal Credit Union ($1.3 billion in assets, 60,756 members), Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based Kinecta Federal Credit Union ($6.7 billion in assets, 267,986 members), Raleigh, N.C.-based Coastal Credit Union ($4.7 billion in assets, 300,813 members) and Albuquerque, N.M.-based Nusenda Credit Union ($3.8 billion in assets, 239,681 members).

According to Tuesday’s announcement, the top priorities of the task force will include finding new solutions for card management and abilities to reveal card data to enhance services already existing on Constellation’s platform. Credit union leaders on the task force will also help determine “which Co-op digital payment solutions, like P2P, bill pay and account access, will most benefit their members’ needs.”

“To enable banking as members have come to expect, credit unions need to bring innovation to the market faster and with a more diverse set of solutions,” Constellation SVP, Fintech Partnerships Dawn Sirras said. “App diversity extends primary financial relationships by meeting members where they are across more of those sticky, everyday banking moments.”

“We believe strongly in listening to our clients through collaborative forums, such our client Co-Creation Councils and task forces comprising technology partners to provide the best experience for credit unions and their members,” Tofil said. “This is a real differentiator for Co-op in the market, and we will continue to dedicate resources to grow this service model.”

Co-op also announced plans to form other technology-focused task forces in the future.
