WEST

Erica Barriero

The $3.8 billion, Albuquerque, N.M.-based Nusenda Credit Union hired Erica Barreiro as chief learning and diversity officer. In her new role, she will lead Nusenda’s learning and development department, and its diversity, equity and inclusion work. Barreiro brings over 15 years of experience in education and program development and joins Nusenda from Central New Mexico Community College. She most recently served as the community college’s future of work strategist, and before that as dean of the School of Communication, Humanities and Social Science for eight years. Barreiro holds a master of arts in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and a doctor of philosophy in education and human resources from Colorado State University. She has also served as a chair or co-founder on several local and national committees, including the Equity Council, Women United Advisory Board, The Culture We Want and the LGBTQ+ Advisory Council.

EAST

Monofer Usman

The $6.4 billion, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley Credit Union hired Monofer Usman as a commercial lending officer for the credit union’s Capitol Region business members. He brings over 10 years of commercial lending experience, having begun his career in financial services as a tax preparer in 2009. He has since held several managerial roles, including one as a branch manager since 2016. Monofer serves as an advisor to the Muslim Community Center of the Capital Region and was previously a board member for the center.

MIDWEST

Jennifer Glovacki

The $5.1 billion, Neenah, Wis.-based Community First Credit Union hired Jennifer Glovacki as vice president of investment services with Community First Financial Advisors, a full-service investment program offered through CUSO Financial Services. Glovacki brings 23 years of financial services experience at Thrivent Financial, where served in a variety of legal and compliance, operations and sales roles before moving into her most recent role as vice president/customer guidance and support. She holds an MBA from Strayer University in Washington, D.C., and a black belt in Lean Six Sigma in addition to numerous financial and insurance industry certifications and licenses.

SOUTH

Chad Jaenke

The $7 billion, Melbourne, Fla.-based Space Coast Credit Union hired Chad Jaenke as chief information officer and SVP. In his new role, Jaenke will lead various information technology divisions, which include operational systems, security, support and development. Jaenke brings 25 years of experience leading and mentoring international IT operations and security teams. He most recently served as vice president of IT operations and service management for Delta Community Credit Union ($9.1 billion, Atlanta), and before that served at air transport communication and IT solutions company SITA, joining as senior security architect and later ascending to senior manager of the global data center and network operations, and director of the global data center and infrastructure, according to his LinkedIn profile. He holds an MBA from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn.

Jason Blakey

Jason Blakey, Cherokee area manager for the $599 million, Woodstock, Ga.-based Credit Union of Georgia, received the Superintendent’s Game Changer Award for Instructional Advocacy from Cherokee County School Districts (CCSD) Superintendent Brian Hightower. The superintendent presents four awards each year: Instructional Excellence to a classroom teacher, Instructional Leadership to a school or district leader, Instructional Support to an employee who serves in a support staff role and Instructional Advocacy to a non-CCSD employee. Blakey began his career with the credit union in 2008, and in his current role, he oversees the branch operations of the Canton, Hickory Flat and Towne Lake branches, as well as business development in Georgia’s Cherokee County.

Sheila Schinke

The Wisconsin Credit Union League appointed Sheila Schinke, president/CEO of the $354 million, Appleton, Wis.-based Prospera Credit Union, to its board of directors at the League’s annual meeting in Appleton on May 12. Schinke replaced Kevin Ralofsky, president/CEO for Verve, a Credit Union ($1.5 billion, Oshkosh, Wis.), who served for nine years on the board. In addition, all of the League’s board officers, who are executives at Wisconsin credit unions, were re-appointed to their positions: Board Chair Brandon Riechers, president/CEO for Royal Credit Union ($4.1 billion, Eau Claire); Vice Chair Lora Benrud, president/CEO for WESTconsin Credit Union ($1.9 billion, Menomonie); Secretary Danielle Frawley, EVP/chief experience officer for Fort Community Credit Union ($350 million, Fort Atkinson) and Treasurer Chris Moczynski, president/CEO for Prime Financial Credit Union ($146 million, Cudahy).

TRADES

Kandie Stroud

CUNA hired Kandie Stroud to the strategic communications team as director of media relations. Stroud previously served as president of Stroud & Associates, LLC, a boutique communications firm she founded in 2005. She has over 40 years of experience in strategic communications, political campaigns and journalism, having served as a senior advisor and communications director for John Delaney’s presidential campaign during the 2020 election cycle; director of broadcast communications for the Democratic National Committee for a decade, where she managed the radio bookings for several Democratic National Conventions; and the first woman to serve as the chief diplomatic correspondent for CNN. She was voted a top 20 female political strategist by Business Insider in 2021. In addition, Stroud has performed with the Choral Arts Society of Washington, a symphonic chorus, on concert stages around the world from South America to Russia, and from China to Europe; she also served as board chairman and as a trustee for the society.
