In Memoriam: Corelation CTO Dwayne Jacobs
Jacobs, who was promoted to the core processor’s CTO role just months ago, dies suddenly this week.
Dwayne Jacobs, chief technology officer for Corelation, Inc., passed away suddenly this week, according to a Thursday afternoon announcement from the San Diego, Calif.-based credit union core processor.
Details of his death are not being publicly disclosed at this time out of respect for his family’s privacy, Corelation said.
Throughout his 30-plus-year career in financial technology, Jacobs held a number of leadership positions in the areas of product development, professional services and information technology. Prior to joining Corelation in 2019, he served in the roles of chief information officer, chief technology officer, SVP and vice president at DirecTV, Computer Associates, Deloitte and Touche, Fiserv, Experian and several fintechs.
Just three months ago, he was promoted from director of software development to chief technology officer at Corelation. Corelation President Rob Landis, with support from Chief Information Officer Jeff Dent, will take over Jacobs’ role in the interim, the company said.
“We are all in shock at Dwayne’s sudden passing this week,” Landis stated. “He was a rare talent in our industry, a person with vast experience in so many fintech and development arenas. We were honored to work with him, and we have benefited greatly from his passion for innovative development. We would not be where we are today without Dwayne’s significant contributions. He will be missed tremendously.”
Jacobs is survived by his wife, three children and one grandchild, according to Corelation.
