"As a board member of the credit union I always thought we would lose Jess to one of the large banks or credit unions," Greater Pittsburgh Police FCU Board Chair Dan Schwab wrote on Malaskovitz's tribute web page at John F. Slater Funeral Home. "She was amazing both as a CEO and person. God bless her."
Malaskovitz was appointed CEO in 2016. During her executive leadership, Greater Pittsburgh Police FCU grew its assets from $42 million to $85.3 million.
The credit union closed its office Friday morning for staff to attend the funeral.
Malaskovitz is survived by her son Jacob, husband William, parents Joseph and Charlene Malaskovitz, her grandparents, Joseph and Marlene Malaskovitz, and three siblings.
