The $2.6 billion, Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union (PSFCU) has established a relief fund for Ukrainian refugees in partnership with the John Paul II Foundation of New Jersey, the credit union announced Wednesday.

“As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, ongoing war and the resulting humanitarian crisis in the country, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians have fled their homeland, with a vast majority of them crossing the Ukrainian border into Poland,” a statement from PSFCU read. “These refugees are in dire need of humanitarian aid since, in the majority of cases, they left their homes with just a handful of personal items.”

The credit union said it will send the collected donations in their entirety to local charitable organizations providing direct assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Poland. “We encourage everyone to join us in this humanitarian effort,” PSFCU stated.

Those who would like to donate should mail a check, made out to the John Paul II Foundation with the memo “Donation for Ukraine Refugees,” to:
