The $941 million Greater Texas Credit Union in Austin and its subsidiary, Aggieland Credit Union, which serves members in the state's Brazos Valley, unveiled the insurance agency Greater Texas | Aggieland Insurance Solutions on Tuesday.

Greater Texas partnered with the East Windsor, Conn.-based Insuritas to bring the insurance offerings to members. Insuritas works with financial institutions to implement an online platform where customers or members can shop for products from white-labeled insurance agencies, all from a website showcasing the financial institution's brand. It also enables financial institution clients to target customers or members with personalized insurance offers due to their ability to leverage Insuritas' proprietary data-mining techniques and integrations with a wide range of providers, the organizations said.

Members of the Texas credit union can access one of two websites set up for the new insurance agency – Greater Texas Insurance Solutions and Aggieland Insurance Solutions – depending on whether they are a member of Greater Texas or its subsidiary. Both websites allow members to shop for and compare personal, ancillary and commercial insurance plans from over 40 carriers. Specific types of insurance plans being offered through the new agency include home, renter's, auto, pet, identity theft and travel.

"As part of our strategic planning process, we assessed the services available to our members. After careful analysis, we determined that with Insuritas we can provide our members with new options to help them work toward their financial goals and manage their risks," Greater Texas Vice President of Financial Solutions Joe James stated. "Affordability, convenience and quality of insurance offerings are some of the benefits the agency will provide our members."

Insuritas Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Chesky added, "We're delighted to announce our relationship with Greater Texas Credit Union and are proud to have earned the opportunity to build, launch and manage a full-service, digitally powered insurance agency for their members. Through our relationship, the credit union will now be able to provide simple, seamless access to competitive options for their members' insurance needs, all with a focus on delivering the right coverages at the right price at the right time."

Greater Texas serves about 77,000 members across the state. College Station, Texas – the home of Texas A&M University – is at the heart of Aggieland CU's Brazos Valley service area.
