The Littleton, Colo.-based Red Rocks Credit Union announced Darius Wise as the institution’s new president last week.

Wise began his Red Rocks ($359.6 million in assets, 16,232 members) career in 2019 when he was hired as the chief experience officer and quickly rose to EVP and COO. According to a statement from the credit union, Wise will continue to serve as COO.

Interim CEO David Brooks said, “As chief operating officer, Darius has built a culture of trust based on relentless care for others. This is what it means to lead in today’s business environment, and I look forward to continuing our work together, to make a difference for our members and our communities.”

Before joining Red Rocks, Wise spent nearly 20 years in the pastoral ministry, where he served in executive positions at Denver United Church and the non-profit organization CrossPurpose, which helps families living in poverty in the Denver area. According to the credit union, Wise still holds board positions at Denver Institute for Faith & Work and Young Life.

Red Rocks Board Chairman Joeri Carty said, “As a member-owned credit union, we are committed to implementing a strategy that allows us not only to serve the needs of our current membership, but to invest in technologies that will help our organization continue to grow. As the board has witnessed first-hand, Darius brings thoughtful leadership and commitment to the credit union. His promotion to president acknowledges the real impact he is making in an ever-changing, competitive financial services environment.”
