6 Credit Unions, NCUA Name Talent to New Roles

Chris Cummins

Redwood Credit Union ($7.1 billion, Santa Rosa, Calif.) promoted Chris Cummins to vice president of virtual service delivery. In his new role, Cummins is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality digital experiences when members access the credit union’s online services. He joined RCU in 2013 as remote delivery manager and has since taken on roles as digital experience manager and most recently vice president of virtual service delivery. Prior to joining RCU, Cummins worked for Pacific Pulmonary Services as a senior software engineer and then service desk manager, and for Mitchell1, a subsidiary of Snap-on Tools, as a senior software engineer leading the development of automotive software product lines. He holds an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT service management and participated in Filene Research Institute’s iInnovation Program.

EAST

Cassandre Cassamajor

The $192 million SkyPoint Federal Credit Union in Germantown, Md., hired three community development representatives to its community relations team: Cassandre Cassamajor, Anarosa Chicas and Jordy Guerrero. In their new roles, they will support SkyPoint’s community outreach programs and efforts to provide financial literacy and education across the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area, particularly in mid- to low-income and underserved communities.

Cassamajor brings 10 years of experience as a personal banker and service manager. Her expertise includes tailoring products and services to meet clients’ financial needs with a focus on financial literacy.

Anarosa Chicas

Chicas brings nearly a decade of professional experience, including retail branch sales and service, lending and operations, and development and management. She also speaks both Spanish and English.

Guerrero specializes in creating seminar content and designing marketing and promotional campaigns, which he is able to do in both English and Spanish.

Megan Millevoy

The $1.5 billion Suffolk Federal Credit Union in Medford, N.Y., hired Megan Millevoy as vice president, human resources. In her new role, she will be responsible for human resources strategy, management and implementation, as well as organizational culture. Prior to joining SFCU, Millevoy was chief people officer at Adjuvant.Health/Allied Physician’s Group in Melville, N.Y. She is a board member of Literacy Suffolk, Inc. and Deepwells Farm Historical Society. Her professional certifications include SHRM Senior Certified Professional and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.

MIDWEST

Samantha Pritchett

The $173 million, Wood River, Ill.-based Midwest Members Credit Union announced two promotions.

Samantha Pritchett was promoted to CFO. She joined Midwest Members in 2002 and has held many positions, both member-facing and back-office, throughout the years. Her areas of expertise include finance, human resources, training and information technology.

Tim Carter was promoted to COO. He joined Midwest Members in 2003 and has held many different positions within the credit union, including as a teller and in lending, branch management and operations management. In his new role, he oversees leaders of the day-to-day operations of the credit union, including the branch managers, servicing/call center manager, asset recovery manager and internal auditor.

Erik Airheart

The $555 million Jax Federal Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., announced four promotions.

Erik Airheart was promoted to vice president of audit and risk. He has been with Jax since 1997 and most recently served as director of internal audit.

Jill Thomas-Aviles was promoted to vice president of operations and digital strategy. She has been with the credit union since 1998 and most recently served as vice president of payments and deposit operations. She holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and serves as an executive committee member for the credit union’s Light the Night team. In 2021, she was selected as one of Credit Union Magazine’s Credit Union Rock Stars.

Joy Bing was promoted to vice president of consumer lending and mortgage. She has been with Jax since 2018 and most recently served as director of lending operations.

Bill Rickman

Alabama ONE Credit Union ($929 million, Tuscaloosa, Ala.) hired Bill Rickman as director of AREA Strategy for Alabama ONE and one of its divisions, Alabama Rural Electric Credit Union. His role will involve developing the rural markets in and around the 23 electrical cooperatives under the umbrella of Alabama ONE and working to determine ways Alabama ONE can expand its footprint throughout the state. He previously served at West Alabama Bank for the last 20 years, beginning as assistant vice president and loan officer, and later becoming city president and vice president. From 2007 to 2009, Rickman served as city president of the bank’s Butler, Ala., branch. Prior to joining the bank, he taught at Pickens Academy in Carrollton, Ala., from 1996 to 2001, and was the head coach for boys basketball there from 1996 to 2006.

Matthew Downing

eCU Technology, a CUSO owned by the $847 million, Houston-based First Service Credit Union, hired Matthew Downing as president. Downing previously served as vice president/manager, enterprise programs and strategy for Tinker Federal Credit Union ($5.8 billion, Oklahoma City, Okla.) and has experience with developing and executing strategic plans as well as building high performing operations and technology teams.

Kelly Lay

The NCUA promoted Kelly Lay, the current director of the Office of Business Innovation, to director of the Office of Examination and Insurance effective Jan. 1, 2022. In her new role, Lay will oversee the NCUA’s examination and supervision program that ensures the safety and soundness of federally-insured credit unions and manages risk to the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. She joined the NCUA in 1996 as an examiner in Chicago. Since that time, she has also served as a supervision analyst, the director of supervision and the director of insurance in multiple regional offices, and the associate director of programs in the former Region II. She is a CPA and succeeds Myra Toeppe, who is retiring after more than 10 years at the NCUA and 34 years of public service.
