The $6.9 billion Wright-Patt Credit Union in Beavercreek, Ohio announced Monday that Tim J. Mislansky, the credit union’s chief strategy officer, will take the helm as president/CEO on Jan. 1, 2022. He will succeed Doug Fecher, who announced his retirement in June after 21 years of service.

Mislansky brings 25 years of senior management experience to the leadership role, including 20 years of member-center strategic development and plan execution at WPCU and myCUmortgage – a wholly-owned CUSO of WPCU. Prior to becoming WPCU’s chief strategy officer, he served as SVP of WPCU and president of myCUmortgage. Mislansky launched myCUmortgage in 2001. According to the credit union, he has also been integral in the development of a series of new enterprise initiatives aimed at developing new sources of revenue and serves as the credit union’s catalyst for digital transformation for the cooperative.

WPCU’s board of directors selected Mislansky for the role following an extensive six-month search.

“The WPCU board of directors and I are confident Tim is the right leader for the credit union as we continue to innovate and serve our members,” Joe Linsenmeyer, WPCU’s chairman of the board, said in a prepared statement. “Not only does Tim bring with him an extensive background with WPCU, but he also brings exceptional experience within the industry in creating new business opportunities. All of this will continue to help WPCU achieve its objectives for our members, partner/employees and the communities we serve. In addition, Tim will be instrumental in ensuring our service culture remains a strong focus for the credit union.”

Mislansky is currently the chair of CUNA’s Advocacy Housing Subcommittee, and is a board member for Credit Union Student Choice, CU Realty and the American Credit Union Mortgage Association. In addition, he is a member of the Filene Research Think Tank, was a founding board member for the Ohio Credit Union Foundation, served as treasurer for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton in Dayton, Ohio and was a board member for the Home Ownership Center of Greater Dayton.

His accolades have included receiving a Dayton Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award in 2011, receiving the Marie Kindrick Fair Housing Award from the Dayton Area Board of Realtors in 2012, and being named an inaugural member of the William A. Herring Society in 2011. He is also a graduate of the Credit Union Executive CEO Institute.

“It is a tremendous honor to lead the WPCU team and I’m incredibly excited to assume this new role,” Mislansky said in a prepared statement. “As I reflect over the past 20 years, I’m proud of everything our team has already accomplished and I’m thankful for Doug’s leadership and mentoring over the years. I’m honored to carry his legacy forward. Looking toward the future, we will continue to focus on providing the best banking experience that helps to economically uplift Main Street Ohioans so they can lead better lives.”
