Four Credit Unions Appoint New CEOs
Mike Warrell takes over the helm at ValleyStar Credit Union in Virginia.
The $574 million ValleyStar Credit Union in Martinsville, Va., said it appointed Mike Warrell as president/CEO.
He succeeds Lisa Lambrecht, who served as interim CEO and continues to serve as ValleyStar’s EVP.
Warrell previously served as president/CEO of the $84 million Solano First Federal Credit Union in Fairfield, Calif., which merged into the $2.4 billion Valley Strong Credit Union in Bakersfield, Calif.
Warrell served as president of the northern region of Valley Strong.
ValleyStar’s 141 employees operate nine branches that serve more than 53,000 members.
After serving as interim CEO of the $176 million Journey Federal Credit Union in St. John’s, Mich., for four months, Jeffrey Kusler was appointed its permanent president/CEO, the board of directors said.
He succeeds Patrick Hunt, who served as CEO for more than six years and currently serves as vice president of lending at the $179 million Isabella Community Credit Union in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
Kusler joined Journey in April 2019 as its chief lending officer. He also worked as the vice president of operations at the $383 million CASE Credit Union in Lansing and as director of regulatory affairs and compliance at the $6.2 billion MSU Federal Credit Union in East Lansing.
Journey’s 39 employees operate three branches and serve a membership of nearly 18,000.
The $74.3 million Missouri Central Credit Union in Lee Summit, Mo., named Josh Wooley as president/CEO.
He succeeds Glenna Jarvis, who led the credit union for more than 30 years and retired earlier this year.
Wooley previously served as vice president of retail delivery at the $884 million Mazuma Credit Union in Overland Park, Kan.
The $67.7 million POLAM Federal Credit Union in Los Angeles named Jennifer Audette as president/CEO.
She succeeds Chris Hiller, who retired in April after 44 years of service.
Audette previously served as operations manager for the $38.8 million Media City Credit Union in Burbank.
POLAM’s nine employees operate two branches and serve nearly 2,000 members.
