Credit Unions in Texas, Louisiana & California Appoint New Leaders

Michael Crowl appointed to the newly created position of president at University Federal Credit Union.

The $3.7 billion UFCU named Michael Crowl to the newly created position of president, the Austin, Texas-based financial cooperative said.

Crowl most recently served as the credit union’s executive vice president of member experience. He joined UFCU in 2005 as chief financial officer and was later named senior vice president of planning and execution/CFO.

Crowl continues to report to UFCU CEO Tony Budet.

UFCU’s 768 employees operate 23 branches and serve more than 336,000 members.

Rodney Parker also was named president of the $270 million Centric Federal Credit Union in West Monroe, La.

He joined the credit union in 2011 and served as its chief financial officer. He previously worked as director of finance for Marlin Atlantis in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Parker continues to report to Centric FCU CEO Christopher Craighead.

Centric FCU’s 99 employees operate five branches and serve more than 32,000 members.

The board of directors for the $134 million South Bay Credit Union in Redondo Beach, Calif. appointed Paris Chevalier as president/CEO.

She succeeded Jennifer Oliver who joined the conserved $4.1 billion Municipal Credit Union in New York as its chief financial officer.

Before joining South Bay CU, Chevalier served as chief experience officer at the $1.2 billion USE Credit Union in San Diego.

She also previously worked as chief marketing officer and as vice president of marketing communications for the $981 million Xceed Financial Credit Union in El Segundo, Calif, which merged into the $6.3 billion Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach where Chevalier served as its marketing manager.

South Bay CU’s 22 employees operate three branches and serve nearly 9,000 members.
