The $2.2 billion Together Credit Union in St. Louis, Mo., will be the official banking partner and second founding partner of St. Louis CITY SC, Major League Soccer’s 28th expansion team that will launch its inaugural season in 2023.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

As St. Louis CITY’s official banking partner, Together will offer exclusive St. Louis CITY SC-branded debit and credit cards for its members that will include stadium offers and events. Additionally, the financial cooperative will sponsor the “Together Credit Union Club” that will be located on the stadium’s main concourse, where club ticket holders will have the chance to come together before, during and after each soccer match.

Currently under construction is a 22,500-seat world-class soccer-specific stadium, practice facility and team headquarters all within the same urban campus in St. Louis’ Downtown West District.

“The Together Credit Union Club will provide a one-of-a-kind experience inside the stadium where fans can come together on match day to enjoy delicious STLMade food and beverages reflective of the diverse culinary flavors of St. Louis,” Together COO Tom Kraus said. “We have immensely enjoyed working with St. Louis CITY to bring our vision to life and cannot wait to share the final designs.”

In addition to the banking products and services for Together’s 138,000 members and St. Louis CITY’s fans, the organizations said they will co-sponsor community-driven initiatives focused on financial literacy.

“Through our partnership with St. Louis CITY, we hope to broaden our outreach efforts by creating sustainable, long-term financial wellness programs,” Kraus said. “Our goal is to help young people and their families on the path to financial independence and success.”

The credit union said it will provide educational resources, expert advice and professional guidance for St. Louis-area families and youth. Together and St. Louis CITY will also partner for community service projects, including Together Credit Union’s Day of Giving, helping local organizations serving people in need.

“Our partnership with Together Credit Union is extremely special to the club because of our commitment to our city and both of our organizations’ shared values,” St. Louis CITY CEO Carolyn Kindle Betz said. “I mean … seriously, how incredible is it that St. Louis CITY SC’s first founding partners are so deeply rooted within the St. Louis community? We couldn’t ask for anything better than that.”
