When Bank of America decided to abandon its branch in San Angelo, Texas, Texas Trust Credit Union decided it was time to take its place.

Texas Trust Credit Union ($1.6 billion in assets, 123,638 members) is based in Arlington. If the hyphen of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area had a name, it would be Arlington, midway between the two big cities.

Texas Trust has bought the former Bank of America branch at the corner of West Twohig Avenue and US-277. Texas Trust is renovating the branch and plans to move its downtown San Angelo operation one mile to Twohig Avenue late this year. It has another branch in Tom Green County about eight miles from downtown San Angelo. It has at least 17 other branches in the state.

“When Bank of America decided to leave the San Angelo Market, we happily stepped in to help people build brighter financial futures,” President/CEO Jim Minge said. “We have a long history here and continue to see this community as a great place to invest and grow. We guarantee that our members will be impressed with our new Twohig branch.”
