Andrea White has been named the new president/CEO of Naveo Credit Union as its first woman to serve in that position.

The Summerville, Mass.-based credit union ($156 million in assets and more than 7,500 members) announced White's appointment this week after the board of directors voted for her to be the successor of long-time CEO Rui Domingos.

White comes from the banking industry, after serving as SVP of Community Banking at Freedom National Bank in Rhode Island.

"We are excited to welcome Andrea to the Naveo team! We're confident that Andrea's experience, energy, vision and leadership will allow Naveo to continue being a key player in our community, providing exceptional member experiences and building upon partnerships that benefit the communities and neighborhoods we serve," Leontina Mancini, chairperson of the board of directors at Naveo, said. "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Albert Pinho for his leadership and commitment for serving as interim CEO over the past six months. We are grateful for his dedication."

According to a press release, White said, "I am thrilled to work with Naveo's talented team and to immerse myself in the mission of the credit union. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to make a positive impact on people's lives. I look forward to leading an organization that exemplifies those values every day."

White began her leadership position at Naveo on Oct. 19.
