San Diego County Credit Union ($9.28 billion, San Diego), promoted Nathan Schmidt to EVP, chief experience officer and digital channels for SDCCU. In this elevated role, Schmidt is responsible for managing the overall member experience, including further oversight of member interactions with the SDCCU brand, in addition to his existing responsibilities, which include marketing, advertising, digital channels, product development, business development, and community and media relations. The new role was developed to ensure focus on continually improving and delivering a seamless member experience. With over 20 years of experience leading marketing and e-services operations for credit unions, Schmidt joined SDCCU in October 2011 as EVP, marketing and business development. In 2018, he became EVP, brand strategy and digital channels, where he added management of the digital channels department to his role. He has received 10 professional awards and recognitions since serving at SDCCU, and serves on the board of directors for the San Diego Bowl Game Association.

The $4.3 billion, Portsmouth, N.H.-based Service Credit Union welcomed two new executives.
Michael Dvorak was hired as SVP of finance and accounting. Dvorak brings more than 30 years of banking experience to his new role, most recently as EVP/COO and CFO at Wellesley Bank. Prior to that, his experience included six years as SVP of finance at State Street Corporation, along with 15 years at Keycorp, where he was the CFO of both the community bank and the consumer bank.

Mark O'Dell was hired as vice president of lending. O'Dell is a 30-year lending executive with strategic and innovative experience overseeing all lending channels throughout his career. He most recently served as vice president of residential lending for the $13 billion Alliant Credit Union in Chicago.
The $2.55 billion, Pawtucket, R.I.-based Pawtucket Credit Union promoted two employees and hired another.

Jill Tremblay was promoted to vice president/commercial credit administration and has overall responsibility for managing the underwriting, closing and loan servicing functions for the commercial loan department. She has been with the credit union for 10 years, most recently serving as assistant vice president/commercial credit administration.

Idela Wilson was promoted to vice president/call center and has overall responsibility for managing the call center operations for the credit union. She has been with PCU for 19 years, most recently serving as assistant vice president/call center. In addition to being a licensed minister, she is chairperson of Christian education and director of women's ministries at her alma mater, the Providence Bible Institute.

Eric Zorner joined the credit union as vice president/mortgage origination manager. He previously held the position of vice president/area sales manager at Santander Bank. In this newly-created position, Eric will lead PCU's mortgage origination team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, and creating individualized sales goals.
Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union ($1.6 billion, Lowell, Mass.) promoted four employees and hired two others.

Emily Farnham was promoted to vice president, electronic services. Farnham began her career at Jeanne D'Arc in 2004 and recently held the role of assistant vice president, payment services. She will continue to be involved in electronic services and credit card processing operations in her new position.
Nisa Fagundes was promoted to assistant treasurer, mortgage operations. Fagundes has worked in mortgage lending for more than 25 years. She joined the Jeanne D'Arc team in 2005 as a senior real estate loan underwriter. In 2015, she was promoted to mortgage operations supervisor. In her new position, she will oversee staff and manage the day-to-day activities of the mortgage department.
Christine Alward was promoted to assistant treasurer, member experience officer. A Jeanne D'Arc veteran of 19 years, Alward most recently served as applications support analyst, specializing in core processing, digital platform and account solutions. In her new position, she will assist and support the member experience team, including Jeanne D'Arc branches, the member contact center and the IRA department.
Katie Allard was promoted to assistant vice president, system applications. With over 20 years of credit union experience, Allard has been a steady part of the Jeanne D'Arc team since 1993 when she started as a teller, and made notable contributions to the creation and implementation of online mobile banking. In her new role, Allard will continue to lead all essential technology application updates, including data reporting and project management.

Patrick Coen was hired as vice president, technology operations. Coen brings a diverse background in IT corporate policy development, process optimization, and operational planning and execution. With his strong background in technology, Coen has been crucial in enhancing Jeanne D'Arc's most critical system updates and maintenance.
Fady Sidhom joined as assistant treasurer, outbound contact manager. Sidhom joined Jeanne D'Arc in March 2020, entering the credit union with years of experience in banking and management, acquiring multiple banking awards along the way. In his new role, Sidhom has been tasked with the oversight of the outbound contact and digital contact teams in the member contact center.
MIDWEST

Veridian Credit Union ($4.79 billion, Waterloo, Iowa) promoted one employee and hired another.
Beth Simpson was promoted to the position of mortgage loan underwriter. Simpson has worked at Veridian for 24 years and was previously a senior loan officer.

Ashley Larson was hired to fill the position of accountant II. Larson previously served as a staff accountant at Gosling & Company, P.C.

The $385.7 million Jolt Credit Union based in Saginaw, Mich., hired Allie Robb as community affairs specialist. Robb brings three years of event promotion and youth education experience to the credit union. Her responsibilities in her new role include implementing, coordinating and actively participating in local community relations projects to help promote the credit union in a positive manner.

The $3.9 billion Corporate Central Credit Union in Muskego, Wis., hired Sierra Randall as a member services representative. In this position, Randall will be responsible for providing superior member service and assisting members with questions related to products and services. Additionally, she will serve as a liaison between members and staff to facilitate proactive relationship development. Prior to joining Corporate Central, she served as a member services representative at the $52.6 million, Milwaukee-Wis.-based Brewery Credit Union.

The $700 million Crane Credit Union based in Odon, Ind., promoted Marissa Lynch to assistant vice president of human resources. Lynch began her career at Crane in 2009 as a frontline staff team member. In 2011, she was promoted to the assistant branch manager position and became the branch manager at the Bedford branch in 2014. Lynch was named the human resources manager in December 2017.
LEAGUES
The Northwest Credit Union Association, which represents more than 175 credit unions in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, hired a new executive and named a new board chair.

Cameron Smith, the former director of the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, will join the NWCUA on Nov. 9 as vice president of strategic partnerships and resources. In his new role, Smith will lead Strategic Link, which connects credit unions with the industry's most relevant business solutions. Smith currently serves as chief of staff for Oregon Secretary of State Bev Clarno. He has an extensive background in key strategic leadership positions. As the former director of the DCBS, he advocated for consumers and businesses across such areas as insurance, investments, banking and credit. He also oversaw mortgage services as head of the state's veterans' affairs division.

Kent Oram, president/CEO of the $6 billion, Chubbuck-based Idaho Central Credit Union, was elected chairman of the NWCUA's board of directors. Oram replaces John Zmolek, president/CEO of the $651.5 million Verity Credit Union in Seattle, who served on the board for six years. Oram was elected on Sept. 30 during a board reorganization meeting immediately following the association's first-ever virtual Annual Business Meeting. He joined the association's board of directors in 2019 after the merger between the NWCUA and Idaho Credit Union League, most recently serving as the NWCUA board's vice chairman. He's dedicated more than 30 years to ICCU, beginning his credit union career in 1984 and eventually being named president/CEO of ICCU in 2007.
