Iowa Credit Union League Names Dale Owen as New Board Leader

Under Owen's leadership, the ICUL represents Iowa's 86 credit unions and more than 1.3 million members statewide.

The President and CEO of Ascentra Credit Union, Dale Owen, has been named the chairman of the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) Board of Directors.

In an announcement on Friday, Owen was elected to head the ICUL Board of Directors for 2020-2021.

“It’s an honor to be elected to serve as chairman of ICUL’s Board of Directors,” Owen said. “I believe strongly in the credit union industry and look forward to working with other Iowa credit union leaders to develop initiatives that will help improve the financial lives of our members and advance the credit union movement.”

Owen has been president/CEO of the Bettendorf, Iowa-based Ascentra ($479.2 million in assets, nearly 40,000 members) since 2013.

According to a statement from ICUL, Owen will represent “the collective interests and future of Iowa’s 86 credit unions and their more than 1.3 million members.”
