Louis Bicanic II will become president/CEO of Midwest Members Credit Union in Wood River, Ill., on Sept. 30.

He will succeed President/CEO Gregory L. Lyons, who will retire at the end of the month, the credit union's board of directors said in a prepared statement.

Lyons joined Midwest Members in 1996 and was appointed CEO in 2012. Under his executive leadership the credit union grew from $106 million in assets and 15,000 members to $156 million in assets and 17,500 members. The credit union was originally named Shell Community Federal Credit Union and changed its name in 2016.

Bicanic joined Midwest Members in 2013, currently serving as EVP. He previously worked as a branch manager for Commerce Bank and as a vice president at the $332 million West Community Credit Union in O'Fallon, Mo.

Serving 10 counties, Midwest Members' 42 employees operate two branches.
