The core data processor CU*Answers is offering a rebate incentive to help sign up credit unions to beta test a new software release.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based CUSO said it was accepting applications until Sept. 1 from credit unions to test the planned 20.11 release the CU*BASE system. Eligible credit unions that are chosen to participate in the test phase would earn a $3,000 CollabRebate, CU*Answers said.

"As a cooperative CUSO, the involvement of our credit union partners in the software development life cycle is critical," Scott Collins, CU*Answers EVP of national sales, said in a statement. "By participating in the beta of our software releases, those credit unions not only ensure a strong official release for the rest of the network, but they also benefit from early access to new tools and features."

Collins added: "Providing a financial incentive in the form of a rebate on their invoice is our way of thanking them for being part of the cooperative process."

Beta testing is set to begin Sept. 27, and the rollout of the new system is scheduled for November.

CU*Answers said it was looking for credit unions "with a strong EFT team to test the enhancements to card expiration processing, and enhancements to the card ordering screens."

There are several anticipated updates to loan processing screens, CU*Answers said. "We are looking specifically for credit unions to test the CD-secured loans online offers feature, complete with automated e-signature forms," the CUSO said.

Earlier this year, CU*Answers said AllWealth Federal Credit Union ($20 million, Hamilton, Ohio); and Illinois Community Credit Union ($96 million, Sycamore, Ill.) planned to adopt the CU*BASE system.
